Kind of bad poll, thought you all should see
AOL's doing a poll on Nagin.

http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20050920093009990001&ncid=NWS00010000000001

Of course, it's focused on Nagin. As if he had anything to do with anything regarding the outcome of Katrina.

But, here are the results of the poll:

How would you rate Nagin's handling of the Katrina disaster?

Poor 65%
Good 13%
Fair 12%
Excellent 10%

Who's done a better job during the crisis?

President Bush 68%
Mayor Nagin 32%

Total Votes: 521,105

RW radio and Faux News have done their job once more.

What was it that Ann Coulter said? Something about blowing up the NY Times?

Yeah. I can feel something similar to that.

This is a time of crisis, and we can't be second guessing our leaders.

Just kidding.

Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 11:25 PM by reformedluddite
Any poll at this time doesn't mean squat. When more of the real facts come to light, and the RW spin machine has run out of fodder, the polls might reflect a different tally. I'm just saying...

6. Why? I don't read the AOL Polls or the Weekly World News.
Speaking of the WWN has Bat Boy weighed in on Bush's performance? How about the Space Alien? He was behind Bush around the elections, surely he must have some thoughts about his current situation. I give AOL polls and the WWN about the same weight in terms of relevance and veracity. What I am really curious about is why you thought anyone should go out of their way to read this.

It appears AOL is tracking preferences and eliminating voting ability for those who don't agree with them.

It shows the first half and only the Mayor on the 2nd half. Since I've told AOL off before, I suspect they are interfering. Or what else would be the problem?

19. You see this as some kind of indictment of Americans?
This is an online poll getting freeped. Utterly, utterly, utterly meaningless.

Have you see George's numbers from AP, Gallup, etc. not-online polls?

40%. Across the board.

That's the number you need to focus on. This poll you reference is garbage.

20. The poll doesn't matter
Nagin has offered good leadership for his city's people during this disaster and Bush has not. Plus, Nagin is not the President so putting him up against Bush is not relevent.

22. Yeah, but it's AOL...
I've had suspicions that the freepers camped out on AOL polls ever since "the people" voted Ronald Reagan as "The Greatest American" (that Discovery Channel special that aired a few months back). What's even more suspicious is that Chimpy was ranked SIXTH on the list (ahead of monumental figures like FDR, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, etc). Even Laura Bush made the top 100. So yeah, I've figured that the repukes have hijacked AOL polls, and now I have more evidence.

As a side note, it doesn't take very many people to rig an online poll like this. All it takes is about a hundred people running to every computer in their workplace, school, library, whatever, and voting on every single one of them (and we all know a few repukes who'd do just that).

and all the O'Reilly/Archie Bunker types who don't even have ONE fact are just looking at Mayor Nagins photo and voting against him thinking he is still on welfare.

28. Freakin' PUSH POLL non-scientific Crap
My stat prof would have given them and F!

"He chastised the president on the radio. He criticized his state's governor on TV. And he reopened part of New Orleans against the wishes of the federal government, only to reverse his decision with the threat of Hurricane Rita. Some see Mayor Ray Nagin as a bold leader, while others think he's in over his head. What do you think?"

Right question is "How would you rate Nagin's handling of the Katrina disaster?" alone without any prompting.

33. bush's approval rating havs dropped to 38%, nothing he does
can bring that back up. He is a complete failure once again.

As an addendum, Nagin was essentially out of the picture once bush declared NO as a disaster area. Nagin could have walked on water, but the Fed's had the ball in their court. They are working the 'blame game'.
