Can we get a moratorium on the Katrina MIHOP responses please?
Honestly, I can't think of anything more ridiculous and less credible than the idea that some malevolent force directed the hurricane thru high frequency radio waves.

It's not plausible, and in a time when real conspiracies abound, I don't think it's very helpful.

Think people.

1. I haven't seen those
I have seen LIHOP threads though, which makes more sense, even if you don't believe. Bush fiddling as New Orleans drowned etc.

4. well, USA Today has the story:
http://www.usatoday.com/weather/climate/2005-09-20-wacky-weatherman_x.htm

Cold-war device used to cause Katrina?
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho weatherman says Japan's Yakuza mafia used a Russian-made electromagnetic generator to cause Hurricane Katrina in a bid to avenge itself for the Hiroshima atom bomb attack — and that this technology will soon be wielded again to hit another U.S. city.
Meteorologist Scott Stevens, a nine-year veteran of KPVI-TV in Pocatello, said he was struggling to forecast weather patterns starting in 1998 when he discovered the theory on the Internet. It's now detailed on Stevens' website, www.weatherwars.info, the Idaho Falls Post Register reported.

It is an apt summary of the worth of the fellow's delusions....

countries for things that are not substantiated. It is horribly arrogant and divisive actually.

I am glad the article atleast addresses the topic of weather manipulation, which environmentalists have been discussing for some time. We all need to be more informed with what programs especially military and space programs our tax dollars are being used for.

If we are going to take a look at weather manipulation, our US program HAARP has been known for years to have the capacity to heat up the ionosphere and change the pressures as long as anyone else or any other country, if not longer.

Take a look at the information on the Alaska project HAARP. Environmental groups have been very concerned and some like Green peace have been actively protesting both its secretive agenda and very closed and private location.

5. Bush killed the wetlands and cut the infrastructure funding making it
happen. They knew or should have known the result. Therefore the MIHOPERS are just telling the truth and everyone else needs to see Bush and the Republican agenda for what they are.

Edited on Wed Sep-21-05 12:15 AM by bluedawg12
Theory is based on the low spectrum end of the energy scale, and subsonic farts emittted just below the pilonidal cyst of Trush Limbags emits a noxious gas that elevates the temperature of the gulf water by 1 degree, thus being a source of fart based energy sufficient to raise water temp. in the gulf, an order of magnitude of 1 , increase from Category 3 to a Cat 4.:tinfoilhat:

11. I posted it first as a joke but then, after USA Today published it,
as "breaking news." I am just amazed it made it to USA Today -- and that to me was 'Breaking News" more, obviously, than the story itself. Since it was a dupe, the other thread got wiped out which is too bad because I liked the tone of that discussion. C'mon, the guy actually says that the fact the names are so Russian ("Ivan," "Katrina") makes his theory more plausible -- give me a break. He is totally nuts, imho, and so are the AP and USA Today for giving it ink. But I don't understand what's so threatening about it to you? That some people may believe it's true? We have obviously had plenty of disagreements before here, why this one should be any different?
