8. Sorry, I'm just tired of the posts wishing ill on Crawford
Bush and his toy ranch will be fine. The Texas coast will take a pounding, however. And in addition to the people directly hit by Rita, we'll all take a hit when the price of gas shoots through the roof. The Texas coast is responsible for about 40% (?) of the nation's refining capacity. Ouch.
this is his chance to get it "right", but don't worry if he gets it wrong.....they'll be another hurricane along soon, and he can give another try...practice, practice. :sarcasm:
Maine_raptor suggests that Galveston is closer to Crawford than New Orleans. Which it is. The map says so. It doesn't say anything about hurricane damage to Crawford. Comprehension is your friend.
I did misread and assumed this was another "Hey! Bush's ranch might get destroyed- yay!" thread, when that is in no way a legitimate possibility from this storm. But thank you for chiming in.
I think the irony would be if there are a lot of people left homeless...the "refugees" establish a tent city cross from boy blunder's chicken ranch and stay there until their cities, homes and lives are rebuilt. Let asshat see them every day on his bike rides or meanderings and be reminded of what type of America he brought about.
Far enough from the Gulf to escape damage, but not too far for cars (or buses) to drive. Houston still has quite a few Louisiana folks here--so evacuees are being directed to go North & West.
Laura & the girls can help feed & "comfort" the people. And they won't be all white, either!
