If the RECALL passes, how long does Davis have to move out?

If the RECALL passes, how long does Davis have to move out?

I was thinking, if Davis loses does he move out Tuesday, or does he have a couple weeks, or what?

Most elections give the losing incumbant a few months or weeks to leave and the elected to get ready.

Is this a one day exchange for Davis-Arnold or Davis-Bustamane? Anyone know?

1. Once the vote count is certified, the change is immediate...

... However, Shelley has said that he expects the vote counting to take at least a few days, possibly weeks... and that's not accounting for court challenges and the like.

3. MoonGod is right -- the transfer of power occurs as soon as the votes...

are counted and certified. That is, *IF* the recall goes through.

I'm hoping that all wise Californians will get off their duffs tomorrow and go to the polls.

That doesn't make any sense. How is that even legal. He obviously would not move his stuff out until he knows he is gone. Arnold can just walk into the mansion and take all of Davis's clothes, money, TV, that seems pretty f*cked up.

5. No, that won't happen because the certification

could take several weeks, that is what I heard. I guess no one can say for sure though since this has never happened here before.

I don't think he would.

Can the Secretary of State refuse to offically recognize the vote?

8. I think Davis will fight all the way

and not move out until he absolutely has to. Technically I suppose the Secretary of State could refuse but he probably wouldn't because he wouldn't want to be accused of partianship (being a Democrat and since they tend to play fair).I think he could take the results to court if he feels that the vote has been tampered with or the election was to close to call.

I'm not really up on all the technicalities. What I know I have gotten from the news and who knows how accurate they are since they spend all their time kissing arnie's butt instead of doing real reporting.

9. Earlier, the thought occurred to me: Could New Gov pull a stunt

as soon as he (she?) is in office and put a freeze somehow on any recalls? Stonewall the process, if McClintock gets in. You'll see how soon the courts suddenly strike down any recall efforts.
