Indictment for AIPAC heads and Franklin Now Online
Something Might Actually Happen to America's Number One Foreign Spies
by Mark Farrell
Things are not looking very good for for the former heads of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and Larry Franklin, a former member of the Pentagon who worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense under Douglas Feith. They stand accused of crimes that may land them in jail for decades.
While Feith himself hasn't been charged yet, there is no telling what the Grand Jury may turn up, as this spy ring runs deep and reportedly has links throughout Washington's inner-chambers.
<snip>
The indictment says Franklin, specifically, knew that by divulging both Classified and Top Secret information that he could "cause irreparable injury to the United States" and that this information may very well be used to the advantage of a foreign nation" (specifically, Israel). In 2001, he attested to being cognizant of this; and had since been given repeated warnings of the consequences for engaging in such behavior. Nevertheless, probably due to the fact that AIPAC has long been allowed to go unchecked within Washington as a result of its incredible plutocratic influence over politicians, Franklin allegedly gave such Classified information to AIPAC heads Steven Rosen (AIPAC's Director of Foreign Policy) and Keith Weissman (AIPAC's Senior Middle East Analyst).
Consequently, according to the indictment, the three "did unlawfully, knowingly and willfully conspire, confederate and agree together and with others, known and unknown to the Grand Jury, to commit the following offenses against the United States."
What follows is a long list of charges, essentially covering all the offenses involved in sharing such information with Israel, contrary to U.S. law. It tells of how AIPAC's heads "would cultivate relationships with Franklin and others and would use their contacts within the U.S. government and elsewhere to gather sensitive U.S. government information, including classified information relating to the national defense, for subsequent unlawful communication, delivery and transmission to persons not entitled to receive it."
