1. Funny - I have heard horror stories coming out of Houston.
People dying in the heat while waiting in traffic.

They learned a little, but not enough.
I think they are learning impaired!
You don't tell the whole town to evacuate at the same time.

Even when you board an airplane, you take turns!

3. Gun fire, fist fights
People here on DU reported some of that, and linked to some articles. Funny how the cable news just missed it all. :eyes:

7. Ya got me
I'll let others speculate as to why. I just know that it's looking like "conventional wisdom" is going to be what a great job Texas did, kind of like what a great job Mississippi did. A few possibilities in there.

2. I don't think that the people who were stuck in traffic for 36 hours...
are going to be talking about how well the evacuation went.

They are going to be angry. Perry's cavalier attitude can't have helped.

4. seems no one anticipated the HEAT, sitting in A/c cars for many who
eventually ran out of gas and overheated cars creaping along.

9. Yep and God rest their souls, 24 four were killed. There is an
e-mail sent to Bouncy_Ball on here from a friend who gives a seriously deva sting account of their evacuation. I'll try to find it.

10. Well
I think you all are missing my point. Freepers seem to be more concerned about the political ramifications. Rita is just now hitting the coast and freeptards talking politics not how much damage the storm is causing

11. Don't know about anyone else, but I got the point
I'm never surprised much by freeptards or their priorities these days. Guess, I'm getting immune.

12. 14+ hours in traffic, with many stranded, no gas. Exploding buses.
How much lower can they set the "effective government" bar?

Seriously. :eyes:

13. Hey Freepers -
How much you want to bet that just as many people remained in Houston as did in New Orleans . . .

Of course, that will never be spoken of by any newsman or reporter. Why? Because there aren't any levees to breach in Houston. Those who stayed behind, though just as numerous will be ignored because water isn't reaching their roofs.

14. Because they're despicable.
And they all saw the horrendous traffic jams on TV just like we did, and many of them have been lurking here and have seen the many accounts of problems that went on. They know they are full of shit. But they will never stop pandering to their King. * could have a gun to their foreheads and they would still tell him how much they love him. And they call us moonbats. :eyes:
