Shrub playing Sympathy card!
I can sense the mood change by shrub is another attempt by Rove to reset the Bush image. Do not fall for it. Several shills for the right are starting to say "Man he has been through a lot". The sympathy card is about to be dealt. Start telling the blogosphere.

He just got finished with a 5 week vacation!!!!

I don't know about any of you guys but I don't get 5 weeks of vacation every year.....

And if they want to talk about someone who has been through a lot, just talk to any former resident of New Orleans!!! Now those people have been through a LOT!!

8. I'll feel sorry for him when one of his daughter gives her life in Iraq.
Then there will be a human connection to feel sorry for. OTOH, he and Rove will exploit it, and that will stop the sympathy right then and there.

I'm reminded of that scene in Thelma and Louise where the detective takes his hat and beats the Brad Pitt character on the head and then says, "I've got no feeling for you, boy!"

That's how I regard george w. bush. No feeling for him whatsoever. He hasn't even begun to taste the medicine that life should be giving him the way he's forced it down everyone else's throat.

21. while I clearly understand your fathers
view, and to a large degree share it, those girls didn't ask to have him for their father-

What they do as individuals is what we should 'judge' them on-
Speaking as one, who has been judged by the actions of others I had absolutely NO control over- but was victim to- I can't help but feel for them- Whatever benefits they might have as daughters of this man, aren't worth shit- when you weigh that against knowing HE is your .... father?????

that is a curse I'd never wish to be under-

As for bush- I pity him- he's a weak, scared, deluded little man who has done more harm to more people and this earth than any other person in my lifetime- and I can only thank all that is 'good' that I do not live in his shell- ... honestly... can you really imagine BEING him????-
I'd off myself faster than I can type this......

pity the fool- and the children they produce-

15. The only pity I feel is self-pity
for me and my country and my world because he is my appointed presidential interloper. If things get too tough for him, he is welcome to resign his office and bicycle off into the distance.

17. Sympathy? I have a TON of sympathy.
For Mayor Nagin, working night and day to keep New Orleans alive despite severe Rita setbacks. For Governor Blanco who has seen virtually her ENTIRE STATE affected by back to back catastrophic storms (has there been any other Governor who has ever had to deal with so much at one time???) For all of Lousisiana--small and depressed to begin with--who has had to cope with so much.

Sympathy for Bush? Not EVEN when hell freezes over.

19. You should hear some of the asshats I work with.
They're buying that hook, line and sinker.

"The poor president... he's so unlucky! Everything happens to him!"

Bush, The Presidential Victim. :eyes:

And this one, I love this one:

"It's his advisor's fault, he just wasn't getting told the right things. You can't blame that on the President."

:eyes:

22. poor President
It's hard work. I suggest you retire, effective immediately and clear brush. Then you can take all the vacations you want, little man. Leave leadership to real men and women. Poor poopsie, didn't know responsibility came with the oval office, huh? Awwwwww. Yeah, ain't it a shame, but that's what leaders do, accept responsibility. Go home, take a scrapbook and your pretty Presidential seal boots, you can even steal the little white house soaps. Buh-bye. This gig didn't work out. You'll feel much better. Quit. We'll sweep up after you. Ciao.

25. "Man he has been through a lot" my shiny white ass.
He knew, or should have known, when he signed up for the job that it was going to be 24/7 and consist of more than photo-ops. Being the top dog in the US government takes a hell of a lot more than that worthless sack of excrement has given it, and I have not one tiny shred of sympathy for the little SOB. Big responsibilities, small man.
