I'm not sure that exit polls will be all that reliable.

6. Yeah, but...
Many/most of those votes were cast before the recent allegations. If anything, they will be worse returns than the "in-person" vote. So if "yes" is up a couple percent at the end of the day? We may not "officially know" it's over, but we will "know".

On the otehr hand, even if we're winning by a percent or two at the end of the day? We'll have a few sleepless nights waiting to confirm.

9. Exit polling for California recall - Edison Media Research
From their website:

Edison Media Research will be conducting an exclusive Exit Poll for the California Recall Election on Tuesday October 7th. Subscribers include AP, ABC, NBC, CNN, Fox, New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Sacramento Bee, KABC-TV, KCBS-TV, KNBC-TV, KNSD-TV, KTVU-TV and KNTV-TV.

Here is a link to the bios for the company officers - I didn't see any red flags in here:

Do any DU'ers know anything about this company?

10. Interesting.
Larry Rosin is co-founder and President of Edison Media Research. He has been involved with media for over 20 years, the last fourteen in audience research. Rosin has been recognized as one of the leading thinkers in the field, and advises many of the world's largest media companies, including AOL/Time Warner, Sony, Gannett and CBS.

Rosin has served as a media consultant to the U.S. House of Representatives Democratic Caucus and has presented research both on Capitol Hill and the White House.
