Where does A.N.S.W.E.R. get their money from?
And how is it that they are the ones organizing these "Anti-War" protests? The reason I use quotes is that I have come to believe that A.N.S.W.E.R. has an ulterior motive in watering down decent in general.

6. I was just going to start a thread on this.
I've started googling, but I don't think I'm going to get the info I want. Maybe someone has better information.

When DUers talked about a rally, not once did ANSWER's name come up, that I could see. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. So I'm also curious why C-SPAN decided to showcase ANSWER instead of the many others there.

8. Some surprising stuff at wikipedia...

Answer was started by the "International Action Center" which was founded by Ramsey Clark.

The entry for the IAC states:

"The IAC has some overlap in its membership with the Workers World Party and is seen by opponents as a front group of said organization."

According to the WWP entry:

" the positive view they held of the Chinese Revolution led by Mao Zedong, and their support for the Soviet intervention in Hungary in 1956"

"Although in origin a Trotskyist group, the WWP describes itself as Marxist-Leninist. WWP continues to make available the writings of many Communists including Trotsky, Stalin, and Mao. This combination of influences is unusual among left-wing parties. Many Trotskyist organizations seek out international affiliations, but WWP has organized solely in the United States."

" The WWP has defended political leaders such as Slobodan Milošević and Saddam Hussein."

"The WWP claims donations and volunteerism as the source of their funding and operational resources. The WWP posts a direct link to its various headquarters in the United States. As WWP is not a registered PAC or non-profit (501(c), etc.), ultimate sources of their funds remain substantially obscured."

12. They are as you called... their job is to water down dissent
Edited on Sat Sep-24-05 07:27 PM by OKJackson
Look at when they were formed, just after September 11th.

This has "foreign backing" written all over it.

Shun them.

Don't be seen with them.

Don't go to their events.

And check every organization you donate to for cross membership in the higher ranks and any cooperation with the group.

Treat them like Bush's best friend from here on out.
