One quick pic from the protest
Took this on my cellphone. Shame George wasn't in, but here's the DU crew right outside the White House. It was damn noisy down there :)

12. We had a great crowd
Started off with at least 50 DUers, but we got kinda separated as we marched. I actually skipped out a bit early, around three-quarters of the way through, because there was a long wait at the start and my back decided to seize up. But it was great being there and meeting everyone (some for the first time, some I'd met before). That's LynneSin's banner by the way :)

39. Sorry, that's DU's banner - I just donated it to you guys
It's a leftover from the March for Choice protest we did back in April 2004 (it's the colors that were used for the Suffergette movement).

So if someone ever needs to use it for a major protest go for it. I just hated to not see it used again ever.

BTW, I was somewhere in that crowd near the banner (TokenLib was carrying it at the time and Tavalon was also helping with duties). It was the most powerful amazing site to see all of us cramming into that gate chanting "Liar Liar Liar Liar" Fricking goosebumps up and down my spine.

Thanks to everyone for turning out. The only reason stuff like this is a success is because all of you show up and are a part of it.

16. There were too many to remember
I'd probably better not name names because I don't want to leave anyone out. But I'm sure someone will have a full rollcall later.

20. I was there too!
Brought my husband and my eight year old daughter. She was a little overwhelmed by how many people were there. We didn't see any for war protesters there, though. Kind of expected we would since the news last night ran the obligatory redneck dad saying the anti-war protesters were dissing his dead son and he planned to be there today. I guess they'll show up tomorrow. It was very heartening to see so many people anti-war. I kinda forget, living in a red state, how many of us there really are.

33. Sorry I missed you today
It was a zoo by the White House, with the Vets banner, the amazing dove puppets, drum circles and more. I would have loved to hook up with some Duers.

A great day though, perhaps a bit subdued until the march started. Bread and Puppet was awesome.
