I protested in DC and elsewhere before many on DU were born . . . and I can tell you that the problem of keeping the focus on one issue has been with us since the beginning, and will likely never go away . . . any time you have a mass demonstration -- at least on the liberal side -- you're going to have fringe groups espousing every issue under the sun, and there's not a whole lot that anyone can do about it . . .

unfortunately, the media is always looking for the most outrageous stuff they can find, so they have no problem ignoring 300,000 anti-war protesters to highlight a couple dozen pro-Palestinian advocates (nothing against Palestinians to be implied) . . . it's just something we have to live with, and hope that some day the media will learn to do its job properly and report the main story rather than looking for the inevitable abberations . . .

most people don't have just one issue. we are all brought together by our desire to end the war and see Bush brought to justice. we each bring our entire lives and experience with us. it seems to me your are judging people by their appearance for no reason. if you are serious, I'd add to the list of no's: your negativity.
