Welcome to the Mindrape

Welcome to the Mindrape
by Myrrander
Mon Sep 26th, 2005

I wondered tonight if it was possible for a person to experience such a shocking amount of cognitive dissonance that that person would lose his mind. What's going on in this fucked up social experiment called America is much worse than mere cognitive dissonance, though -- and yes, I think it will drive us all insane -- and it should. Because what's happening today can only be called mindrape.

And there's not just one rapist, there are thousands upon thousands, pumping and thrusting and fucking our minds, laughing at our pleas and tears, slapping away the shielding hands, punishing any attempt to escape. And it happens over and over and over until we've been used up, tossed out, and left to die.

Welcome to America, AD 2005. Welcome to the land of the soul-fuckers.

When I read that FEMA has rehired that fucking dolt Michael Brown as a "consultant," I realize that the people who call themselves our leaders have given up even trying to fool us into thinking that they give a shit. I keep having flashes of George Bush in a tuxedo talking about the "haves" and the "have-mores." "Some people call you the elite," he said. "I call you my base."

I keep seeing that vacuous gasbag Tim Russert tear into Aaron Broussard because he got the day of the week wrong during an emotional story, as if that suddenly brought the lady back to life. I keep seeing Karl Rove chumming it up with Bob Novak -- he's wearing that button, "I'm a source, not a target." The mindrape is wondering when Broussard turned from source to target -- and there's nothing to wonder about, it's when he said something that made the "have-mores" look bad.

I keep hearing Wolf Blitzer say "so poor and so black" in a state of shock. I keep seeing the cobalt blue lights shining behind our Dear Leader and I keep seeing the inky blackness that covers everything when the "have-mores" have finished preening for the cameras. Half of the voting masses brought this guy to the dance and he fucked them in the back of his daddy's limousine saying "you know you wanted it" when the tears started to fall. The rest of us just wound up in the same place with the guy, and he ripped down our fucking panties and shoved them into our mouths so nobody could hear us screaming about what was about to happen.

I keep seeing Diane Sawyer not batting an eye when the big charming rapist said "I don't think anybody could have anticipated the levees being breached." Our unwilling mouths were too full of cock to protest. I keep hearing Condi Rice -- in shoes that cost more than I make in a month -- say "Nobody could have anticipated the towers coming down." I keep seeing Dick Cheney telling America that the only way to avoid a terrible attack was to stay with the familiar attackers. "The evil you know is better than the evil you don't."

And like all rapists, and like all rapist apologists, the first thing done after he's left you, covered in blood and semen and tears is to blame the victim. "I am not at fault. You should not have dressed so sexy." But there's nothing sexy about being too poor to even afford food, much less adequate housing, adequate education, adequate anything.

I flip through Rolling Stone magazine and read an article about the reporter they managed to get into the flood waters days before FEMA arrived. Then I read about the hot new shows, I read about Tara Reid, I read about "Laguna Beach." I look at my newspaper and see a flash of numbers -- 3 suicide bombs, 10 soldiers killed, 50 Iraqis dead. I look back and read about teenage actresses squabbling over boyfriends and showing off new jewelry. The man who shot John Lennon had a hero-worship fetish.

The cops in New Orleans spent more time protecting the rich people's cars than the poor people. The cops in Washington DC preside over one of the highest murder rates in the nation but find time to arrest people for sitting on a sidewalk. "The World is Watching" they chanted. The world may be watching but the people who run this place don't care. They're the elite. They're the base of power. This can only end in fire.

I keep hearing Thomas Jefferson, "Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." Jefferson thought that when the government stopped serving the needs of the people, it should be abolished. Jefferson said "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." He told us that "every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state." And I keep hearing Jefferson say "every generation needs a new revolution," and I realize that our generation is at the starting place for its revolution.

We know where to start. The President calls them his base. We must call them our enemies. They are the enablers and the perpetrators of these crimes. A country born out of defiance against tyranny must continue to defy it at every turn. The time is now.

34. So where's the accountability?
Thus far, the only people I've seen who've experienced "consequences" from actions taken in the bushistas' rise to power are the poor, the destitute, and the underpriveleged of this country and the world. The elderly reliant on their federal entitlements will soon feel the pinch, as the children unlucky enough to attend public schools already have. Yet the ultra-rich, the christo-fascists, and the offshoring corporate powers skate by with record takes and happy soulless smiles on their faces.

The republicans may "OWN" this evil, but those who pay for it are divided by socio-economic status rather than political preference.

6. "This can only end in fire." Amen.
You are speaking of the "have-mores", true? I've been thinking this all along, that the revolution must begin with them. But they already know this:

The bill abolishing the "death tax" for the rich.

Once they start losing family members, they don't want their fortunes to be taxed and redistributed. You see? They think of e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. They know they are in danger. When the American economy tanks, the first stone will be thrown, but not until then. As long as we have our TV, SUVs, and a place to live, Americans will remain comotose. It's not until the system breaks down will the revolution begin. The question is, how will they fight back?

Excellent voice you have my friend.

7. The elite are fighting us already
and have been doing so since the New Deal. It is up to us to choose effective ways to fight back. Massive peaceful disobedience might be one way. A General Strike is another. Violence would be counter-productive. Peaceful asymmetric social warfare will be best. We have got to out think those swine.

35. Yes, if it ends it will end in fire.
I doubt it will start until it is far too late. It may already be too late, and for sure nobody wants to pay the price. That has always been our problem and their strength, we are frightened and lazy. We have successfully blocked out the basic lesson presented to us by the founders, that to make real a fundamental change, like what is required now, we have to put it all on the line.
"We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honour" was a literal statement. Had they lost, they would have lost everything. Who among our 'leaders' has shown anything like this kind of resolve? How many of us are ready to put it on the line like they did?

You got it - the "land of the soul-fuckers"... sadistic rapists. We are in a life and death struggle against a deadly enemy, and every word, every action must be informed by that realization. This has been apparent for some time, and yet people cling to an illusion of normalcy, thereby protecting the abusers and further victimizing their prey. Welcome to mind war. And yes, we have ALL been victimized, and insanity is a serious possibility.

14. information velocity and diffusion
Before the internet, might this have not been so evident, for the truth
not being exposed in the public domain. As well, that knowledge spreading
at an increasing velocity as every day more persons in the world come
on line. And with that velocity, a pervasive information space, where
for the first time in history minds on the other side of the planet
are able to speak in real-time without censorship in public.

This, IMO, exposes the dissociation, the mind-rape, to its extreme as it
is nothing but vapour the substance of that society; the vapoourous
scent of greed and hormones fucking people, the enraged blood adrenaline
of murdering some people in a race war to show "them" who's the big
dog... and rape indeed, a crime of violence... EXPOSED online when the
words hit the cold emotionless space of international print.

And voila, cognitive dissonance and mindrape undressed.

29. I think "mind-rape" is inaccurate
This abuse of power is the natural state... after five million years we are no further than the big fat monkey with the most oranges wins. It is and has always been this way. People have lived under an elegant fiction of noble and enlightened leaders that has not stood the light of day.

But I am in agreement the internet changes the boundaries of consciousness. Bush and his criminals are the last stand of bestial dominion over the society of man. True cost will out, nothing hides anymore. Not even the next level we don't want to face; the global slavery that afford us our economy and the genocide that powers our technology.

Ignorance was bliss, wasn't it? Before, we thought it was our fault for not succeeding despite doing everything by the rules, by the law, by our conscience.

Hello! Along comes the Internet and suddenly information is available, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the ugly, sordid, mind-raping, soul-f*cking truth. We know. They know we know. It is only a matter of time until the reality-based and the reality-benders clash.

We are not Welcome in the Good Ol Boys country clubs to play, only to cook their food, sew their clothes and clean up after their brats.

This is why Cindy is so important now, she is our modern day spiritual figure and we must not let her go down like: MLK, JFK, RFK,,,etc

All we have to do is let them know THAT we know exactly what they are up too.

So if it comes to Fire, I dont want them in handcuffs.

All of these abuses so brilliantly described will continue to happen until we get it through our heads that these evil ones have not been voted in, but have stolen their way in and will keep doing it.

Brilliant piece, except that it ignores the biggest mind rape of all, the fact that our votes no longer count and have not counted since 2000, at least.

It would appear that the idea if the OP was to raise awareness of how serious things have become. I certainly agree that we are being raped on a mental level.

"the people who call themselves our leaders have given up even trying to fool us into thinking that they give a shit" That is the key to securing their power over us. When they take advantage of us, they WANT us to know that they are doing it knowingly and intentionally and that we are powerless to stop them.

32. Tell that to Langston Hughes
Let America Be America Again

O, let America be America again--
The land that never has been yet--
And yet must be--the land where every man is free.
The land that's mine--the poor man's, Indian's, Negro's, ME--
Who made America,
Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain,
Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain,
Must bring back our mighty dream again.

Sure, call me any ugly name you choose--
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people's lives,
We must take back our land again,
America!

O, yes,
I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet I swear this oath--
America will be!

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain--
All, all the stretch of these great green states--
And make America again!

Langston Hughes

38. I must have missed the 'call to action'. I read another whining essay
about what is wrong, and how it's all 'their' fault. LiviaOlivia effectively used inflammatory language to lend a sense of the criminality of whats happening, but avoids making any recommendations as to what can be done. She goes so far as to quote Jefferson while avoiding the inevitable "We are the enablers", laying the blame on the infamous 'them'.
I thoroughly agree that action is needed, I just don't hear any specific actions advocated. "We must change the country" is shouted all over the board, but the subtext reads "as long as I don't have to make any real sacrifice, nor place myself on the firing line".

Whether it has a plan of action attached is irrelevant.

It's about being human. It's about empathy, compassion, anger and hopefully non-violent action.

LiviaOlivia LENT(?) a SENSE of criminality. I LOVE it!!!! Wow!
For frig's sake, I'd hate to read what you consider criminality!

And "INFLAMMATORY" language to "lend" a "sense" of criminality... etc?!?! How should she allude to mega-crimes? In anodyne language?!?! In neutral language?!? In conciliatory language?!?! My, my.

And your use of the word, "effectively", in that phrase, suggests that she wouldn't have wanted to convey anything like that sense, but, alas, and for shame, that was the net effect of it!!! And there's no getting away from it!!! When all the while, *s policies and actions were at worst misdemeanours of a trivial nature!!!

They're some thought processes you've conveyed to us.

But they aren't that foolish, for they have learned from the Nazis and the rest of their spiritual forebears that they can't do that...at least until those of us born in freedom (before 2000 and really before 1980, so that we got to live some of our adult years in freedom) grow old and die.

Like saps, we are going to work our asses of for the "elections" in 2006 and 2008, and our hundreds of hours of work will be countered by a couple Bushevik mouse-clicks from a thousand miles away.

I am NOT advocating giving up, and I will also be one of those working in 2006 & 2008, in case I am wrong.

But the truth of the matter is the Busheviks don't even pretend to care, they don't even bother hdiign the Third World corruption. What else could it be but that THEY KNOW THEY NO LONGER HAVE TO.

Their are millions of heiling Hannities out there, and they will steal our votes as easily as you or I breathes. In the right circumstances, they would kill us all, but only if they can be guaranteed, like the Nazis were, that no harm will come to them from doing it (at least from the State).

I don't know where this will end, but we are near if not past The Point of No Return.

They are now at the point of the thief in the bedroom, emptying the valuables as they point at us with shaking gun, "If you make one false move, I'll blow your effing head off!"

Will we dare make a move? Or will we let the thief slink away?

46. Learning to rely on our strength
I think we have a lot to learn from our brothers and sisters in Central and SOuth America. They have been dealing with and fighting against oligarchs in many countries there.

We need to learn to recognize and not get distracted by the disinformation that is put out. Also as in Central America, the government here has decided to use terror as a the means to control us. We need to learn how to be courageous in the face of lies, deprivation and violence.

The human spirit is strong though. People have been going through this struggle again and again for countless generations. We can surely face the challenge of our times with fortitude.

50. Disturbing, but sadly true.
The ugliness of he words almost doesn't do justice to the ugliness of the reality, though.

56. what some don't seem to understand
is that it is going to take something drastic for things to change. One of the events that actually started the end of the Vietnam war was that assination of Bobby Kennedy. It woke people up to the fact the government was willing to do ANYTHING to perpetuate what they had.
