Training of Iraqi troops is not progressing, its regressing.

Car bombs everyday

Worst Army recruitment numbers in 26 years

If the public thought that the fiasco in Iraq was soo vital to our national survival, as the clowns in power now would want you to believe, then recruiting wouldn't be a problem, they wouldn't have to try and shore up the little support they have left for this mess, and they wouldn't be having to make excuses for the rising violence in Iraq as signs of our success.

If Iraq is success what does defeat look like?

1. When they have sucked the treasury dry, and not a moment before!
This has nothing to do with democracy, this was a ploy to put money in the pockets of chumpy's business pals, and maybe, just maybe, get their paws on all that Iraqi crude too. The oil part hasn't worked out so well, but the shovelling of cash from the taxpayers to these corporate pigs is going just SWIMMINGLY!!

3. By posting this you have empowered the insurgents and made North Korea
dangerous. And you have made the iranian mullahs dance with glee that you personally have emasculated Don Rumsfeld and his otherwise perfect policies. And you have made Belgium even more of a terrorist and WMD center than it was before. And SHAME ON YOU! Your unpatriotic words have even turned Luxemburg into a dangerous, anti-American force, ready to destroy the heart and soil - er - soul of our country. In fact, Malta is now ready to attack the US on our own territory, sending little Maltese falcons, laden with anthrax, heartworm and influenza, right into the heartland of America.

By questioning our policy, you are attacking our soldiers, directly causing the construction IEDs made out of empty MRE containers from Louisiana. By even using the word "defeat", you have increased the incidence of heat rash among our troups by 43.25%; you have increased the incidence of athlete's feet by 37%; you have increased the number of ulcers by 14% among the troops, and by 58% among civilian leaders in the DOD.

Just wait until Limbaugh hears about you.

Have you no shame?

5. If they don't leave with some semblance of stability or at least a way
(federal constitution) for the Sunnis to separate... we will all be back their fighting in 3 years.

6. I don't agree.
What is the definition of "some semblance"?

That only leads to open-ended make-believe obligations.

The PNAC crowds' unfettered capitalism experiment in Iraq has failed.

It's time to leave.

7. I think we all know it failed. Question is do we want to be back there.

9. But at least if they have a basic constitution - as faulty as it may be -
then if they break apart after the US leaves ... then there is a way to do it.

Federalism is a messy business. And the constitution will have to be fought over in every nuance for years. At least if they have that..

Just because the Bush WH didn't treat "winning the peace" with any respect whatsoever ... resulting in thousands dead... doesn't mean we should throw bad after bad and walk away without leaving a tiny hint of a chance at stability.
