On 9/11, Kerry did nothing for 45 minutes...
That's what a repuke said as means to defend *'s 7 minutes of finishing up his reading of that very important book, "My Pet Goat", to a group of people who redefine the concept of "peers".

So what relevance did Kerry have on 9/11 that makes his 45 minutes of inaction worthy of inclusion? Kerry was not the president, nor was he the governor of New York.

I sure as hell don't understand.

You freepers feel free to respond as well; I'm totally lost on this one.

1. I would respond...
...by cocking my head to the side, and asking the person if they were born fucking rock stupid, or if they got the way because their mother made them drink cleaning products as a child.

You can't fix stupid.

But I agree...there must have been cleaning products involved.

7. Kerry didn't have the power as the POTUS
The POTUS could've scrambled the jets and had them shot down etc. Kerry was nothing more than a Senator. Bush had all the power. Doy.

12. you see...kerry should have
immediately sprung into action, calling upon his former swift boat mates, setting them to the task of constructing a rudimentary surface-to-air missile battery atop the Capitol using only a few paper clips, post-it-notes, and discarded consituent mail.

Kerry then should have gone to the nearest phone booth...reveal he is actually Superman, and intercept all the errant aircraft, whilst protecting Air Force One.

Good one. I am aware that he called his wife and one of his daughters (I think Vanessa?) who was in Manhattan that day for school or something like that. One of them anyways. They all scrambled out of their offices and the building for safety etc.

25. ya i remember before the election
there was some stupid thread on FR that had a clip of Kerry cooly walking down the Capitol steps during the evacuation, of course, he was actually "fleeing in terror" :eyes:

actually this begs the question, why was Kerry walking so slowly. if he had that much time on his hands surely...he could have bravely and stoically read "My Pet Goat" to the Senate interns.

27. which is more than * did!
Not once has bush claimed that he gave wife and kids a single thought on that morning. In fact, the real reason he took no action was that the secret service agents had a tough time pulling him out from beneath the hotel bed by his ankles. Sniveling, corrupt coward.

17. They tried this comeback last year during the election campaign
I know - it makes no sense.

The best reply I saw was on another discussion board - There are a lot of things Kerry did not do that day and in the days following. Kerry did not go into hiding on 9/11, he did not refuse to speak to the American public and he definitely did not help the Bin Laden family escape the US.

35. He didn't have a campaign photo taken
for mass distrubution (for a small fee) to show how stoic and in charge he was.
If he was as craven as the Chimpster he would have paused reflectively by his office window while the cameras caught his resolve - all for a future fundraiser, natch!
How clever was Bush - he really showed Kerry that day how time management works!!!
:sarcasm:

18. Considering the Capitol Building had been evacuated
because of all the rumors surrounding where all the hijacked planes were headed ... there wasn't much Kerry or any of our elected officials could do on 9/11.

Unfortunately for freepers they will never understand the concept of the Commander-in-Chief being the sole person the nation will look to in moments of national crisis. We looked for the pathetic moron on 9/11 and we couldn't find him because he was too busy flying AWAY from the danger zones.

20. Say this:
"Ok...I'm the President of the U.S., the most powerful person in the world, and I've heard that 4 planes have been hijacked and are flying somewhere. This is what I intend to do..."

then just look at your watch, hold your book, put a fake smile on your face, and sit there for seven straight minutes.

Let the silence speak.

Then pull out your camera and ask your friend to take pictures of you with all sorts of people for another 1/2 hour.

Then say, "THIS is what the most powerful man did instead of calling for military action, instead of taking control of the situation, and instead of using the power/position which his office mandates he use for our safty and protection."

Don't respond to kerry--kerry had no power at that time. Just limit the conversation to PRESIDENT BUSH only. (AND DICK CHENEY, RICHARD CLARKE, etc...)

If you do this, let me know the response, please.

I mean cmon. The monkey sits reading childrens books while our country is under attack. How can you defend him? YOU cant so they do what they always do in these situations. Project. Make senseless arguments that say they all do it.

You watch . When you corner a freeper with facts and he has no out he will always do this tactic of "everyones guilty so nobody is"

They will say well your guys did it twenty years ago so that means everyone does it . Since they all do it no ones guilty.

He was in a leadership meeting with Tom Daschle, et. al., if I recall correctly. I would imagine he was hauling ass out of the Capitol with the rest of Congress after they called for an evacuation.
