After 50 years of Cold War espionage and intrigue, spies and counter spies, satellite photos and hidden cameras, infiltrations and black ops, the C.I.A. and it's myriad subsidiaries knew, and I mean KNEW Iraq's capabilities to the minute detail. After all, Iraq is no Soviet Union. They are childs play for an agency that uses the latest technology and experience.
So when they conjecture whether Iraq had stockpiles of WMD's? Bullshit! They KNEW.
When they said they knew that they had a sophisticated nuclear program, they KNEW it was non-existant or primitive.
When they said that Saddam wasn't cooperating, they KNEW he wouldn't be given the chance to cooperate.
And when they said it wasn't about oil, they KNEW it was.
Not only did the * administration know how weak Iraq was, but any congressman had the ability to KNOW the same.
This first ever pre-emptive strike, had to be, without fail, correct in it's premise that WMD's would be found in huge quantities. Otherwise, the doctrine of pre-emption would forever forward be bogus and reek of Imperialism.
Well, if smells like shit............
