I Want To Address This Partisan/ Playing Politics Meme
When one chooses to align themselves with a party they immediately become partisan. Choose a party.. OK cool this is who I am, a Dem, a Repub, a Green, a Lib, a Guttersnipe, a Whatever. And then you get to have your elected politicians who are there to represent these disparate groups DO their job. They are NOT playing they are doing a job.

So why is it that the media is always carping on Partisan this Partisan that and the PLAYING politics meme? These elected folks are aligned to one party or another and that is their JOB. It is Politics! And it is Partisan that is why we have different parties. Of course it is. They are not PLAYING.

They are not playing any more than the local Dr. is pretending to be a doctor. He/She is doing the job. Nobody cries "OMG this is a doctor playing healer."

I am sick of this fucking bullshit. Politicians ENACT policies and they are PARTISAN because that is the way this system is set up. What is this cowardly horse shit? How dare these fucktards try and shut us up because they think they can confuse people. Fuckwittage!

5. The term 'playing'...
...I think indicates--not levity, or lack of seriousness--but in the AUTOMATIC nature of the response (voting GOP because they've always voted GOP, and not because they've actually sat and thought about the issues, for instance) as if it were a game (when people play a game of tennis, or even Monopoly, they make automatic moves in that same way).

4. I think they mean...
When they use the phrase 'playing partisan politics', I think they mean that one side or the other is voting/aligning themselves purely on the basis, and FIRST consideration, of what party they are loyal to--and NOT because they believe in the issue, believe in the candidate, or think the law/issue/candidate is the best thing for America.

Party consideration is the first, if not only, consideration (and BOTH sides can play it this way--don't let them tell you it's just something Democrats do--Republicans are CERTAINLY guilty of it!)

Now, I could be wrong but, just off the top of my head, I think that's what they mean.

6. 100% of Repubs vote for a Supreme Ct nominee and they accuse...
Democrats, who have about 20 members vote with them, of "playing politics"? But, they get away with it -that's why they say it.

7. that's not a media invention, it's something real
yes, partisanship is part of the system, and it's not bad in itself.

But the system also requires compromise, and that's where bipartisanship comes in.

It's the same with ideology, which is not bad in itself, but sometimes pragamatism has to come into play as well.
