what does this bumper sticker mean?
A neighbor has a bumper sticker that reads "At least George W Bush didn't lie about sex." My roommate and I are having a discussion as to whether that is pro-Bush or anti-Bush. What do you think? Oh, it's a pickup truck, if that matters.

The "dem" part, that is. The only other gay person in my office was a Repug lesbian. She and her partner were enthusiastic Bush supporters in the 2000 election.

I wonder if she's ever changed her mind, but she quit her job before the 2004 election and I haven't been in touch since. She wanted to be friends, but I just couldn't get past her politics. It was all I could do to smile politely and ignore her pro-Iraq War and anti-union sentiments. Slapping a co-worker silly makes for poor office morale....

It seems to me that only a republican would diss Clinton on a bumper sticker. I think what the bumper sticker means is something along the lines of...Though I don't know of any mistakes Bush has made, maybe he has made a few little ones that don't really matter, but at least he didn't lie about sex like that nasty old Clinton did!

On second thought, it has to be anti-bush. (I'm a little slow on the uptake tonight.):crazy:

The "at least" implies, correctly, that Bush either has lied about a lot else, or done much worse.

Whether the fellow who displays the sticker realizes that, I cannot say.
