5. A sitting president is going to be useless in the mid-terms
They are going to be running away from him in 2006 BIG time. Oh well, lots more vacation time for shrub, he certainly won't be on the campaign trail.

Big gains ahead for the Democrats, but they need to push.

10. They can't run away from their..........
voting records and public photo-ops with him though. All a Democratic candidate has to do is show Republican candidate X with his arm around bush and display a graphic with their bush supporting voting record. TOAST! They can run from bush, but they can't hide. They all walk in lockstep, that proved to be an asset for a while but now can be used as their death sentence in the electoral sense.
bush is going to be a giant albatross around the neck of most Slugs come fall of 2006.

16. The Democrats have to make it an issue though
Their record is pretty spotty in doing so.

I have high hopes.

6. When is Taft up for election again? Someone in another thread said
that there's no provision for impeachment of a Ohio governor.

19. Taft is lame duck by Ohio Term Limits
we want him RIGHT where he is, with his shitty approval rating and ethics conviction, for 2006.

Like another poster said, in 2006, every Repub will have the word "Taft" next to his name in a sentence on ANYTHING spoken or written by the Dem candidate for ANY office in Ohio.

Birds of a feather, ya know.

23. OMG - Blackwell! From his comments after the election, he clearly
expects the GOP machine to hand him his victory as a reward for stealing the election for Bush. Ah, if only he could be put on the witness stand and tell the truth about the 2004 election!

13. Errr
Bush's 33 approval rate is in regards to his "handling of Iraq", not his overall presidency (which ranges between 40 and 45 per se CNN/Gallup).

15. That's the approval rating re the shrub's handling of the Iraq War.
It's from a Newsweek Poll. His overall approval rating in that poll is 40%.
