If Delay doesn't keep his mouth shut he is going to be indicted again...
...next week for something else. That is just the way these things work. He had better try keeping his mouth shut for a while if he knows whats good for him. He is already looking at life in prison as it stands. I couldn't sleep well at night looking at life in prison.

19. Money laundering
has a max sentence of life imprisonment. Couldn't happen to a more deserving asshole.

Delay must have reneged on the deal he made in the first indictment when he went to court to get it thrown out. You don't do that when you've already made a deal with the prosecutor to plead to a lesser charge. In other words, Tommy blew it and now the prosecutor wants to throw the book at him.

21. Yeah, that's what I understand happened. Really stupid on the
part of DeLay but no surprise. These 2 new indictments with a new grand jury are what DeLay is referring to "do over" is that right?

15. Yeppers : )
That's a whole different circus going on in a whole different court. So far DeLay hasn't been directly implicated, but its getting closer. Hurricane Abramoff was last sighted off the coast of Grover Norquist and Ralph Reed...but if those goons are nailed, be assured DeLay won't be far behind.

beloved friend Ralph Reed for sure. These guys were in on the shake down scheme of the Indian casinos. Plus many others.

23. Latest Abramoff List...
Add to it where convenient...LOL

Conrad Burns (R-Mont)
Bob Ney (R- OH)
Tom DeLay (R-Shit Creek)
Erlich (Maryland Governor)
Grover Norquist (R-Bathtub)
Ralph Reed (R-Sleezeville)

and

Maggie Thatcher!!!!

And this is just the start. This reminds me of the plumbers operations of Watergate. The Mitchell-led money laundering operation...but Abramoff is Mitchell on steroids.

Guess I better do some more reading.

Grand jury re-indicts DeLay on new charge

APRIL CASTRO

Associated Press

AUSTIN, Texas - A Texas grand jury on Monday re-indicted Rep. Tom DeLay on charges of conspiring to launder money and money laundering after the former majority leader attacked last week's indictment on technical grounds.

The new indictment, handed up by a grand jury seated Monday, contains two counts: conspiring to launder money and money laundering. The latter charge carries a penalty of up to life in prison. Last week, DeLay was charged with conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws.

Defense lawyers asked a judge Monday to throw out the first indictment, arguing that the charge of conspiring to violate campaign finance laws was based on a statute that didn't take effect until 2003 - a year after the alleged acts.

The new indictment from District Attorney Ronnie Earle, coming just hours after the new grand jurors were sworn in, outraged DeLay.
