1. Yes, and if this Congress DOES NOT IMPEACH * for what he's
done than our government has ceased to function and that must be dealt with.

2. This congress happens to be run by Republicans.
And they will not impeach. So what's your way of dealing with that?

4. The Spirit of America must rise up then. However, I think that
politicians will see the light to save their own skin and their own political careers. Politicians are the save yourself first kind of people - regardless of party that's how the majority of them will behave. Impeachment is not impossible nor is it implausible...all that is necessary is for some people in Congress to change their mind. I don't expect this from the neoconster gang that is the culture of corruption but other true Republicans are already coming around.

5. I hope you're right but I don't see it happening. The difference between
now and the Nixon administration was that we had an active press back then, not the lazy one we have now.

done.

8. They're not lazy, they're complicit
They'll run down a Michael Jackson story or a natural disaster story, or scores of other stories like their lives depended on it.

They just won't look at anything that goes against Republicans, like stolen elections, 9/11 responsibility, the reality of tax cuts for the wealthy, ...

18. 9/11 responsibility
is not on the president as much as the american people. and you dont believe me flip through some channels and youll see how shallow (MTV) heartless, stupid (almost every commercial), and fat (every food chain, supermarket, and ammount we eat). sure Bush was the president but it would have happened sooner or later.

19. 9/11 responsiblity is squarely on Bush and Cheney
Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 03:55 AM by Tactical Progressive
who purposely ignored ten months of forceful warnings from the outgoing administration to the CIA, the FBI, foreign intelligence services, DoD, the biggest national security study undertaken in fifty years, their own security experts and more.

These people were all telling them that the threat of a domestic attack was huge and growing bigger, and that there were some basic steps we should be taking to stay safe. Bush and Cheney ignored them all, on purpose, and we got attacked. Plain and simple: the only way America was hit with such a huge terrorist attack in 2001 is because Bush and Cheney were in office. Were Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John McCain, or even Gary Bauer running the country, those two skyscrapers would still be standing.

You can hypothesize all you want that 'sooner or later' we would have been attacked, but that's all it is, hypothesis. We WERE attacked under Bush and Cheney BECAUSE of their inaction on their primary responsibility in the face of a raft of extreme warnings coming in from everywhere.

Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 11:00 AM by electropop
Or something. No, I think they hate us because we are killing them. And Bush knew they were coming to get us. He allowed it to happen because he hates America just as much as his buddy Bin Laden does.

25. So, you believe we deserved the attack....
Because our culture is offensive to certain people?

Bush ignored a security bulletin in early August that pointed out the probability of attack. His people had gotten warnings earlier than that.

He screwed up.

That's the first question; and the second is, can we get Cheney the Dick too? No sense getting rid of Dim Son if that rat bastard is still on the loose.

21. Not to mention that
for SOME reason, the people who actually believe in conservative ideologies still support him for the most part... someone who has spent more money than any democrat could ever dream of doing, and who has expanced the powers of the government over things that no conservative or liberal would agree to.
I just don't get it.

22. Impeachment is, almost by definition, a political act, not a legal one.
Yes, it looks like a trial.

Yes, you see a Gilbert and Sullivan swathed Chief Supreme reign pompous over the Senate.

Yes, it all sounds so legal and shit.

Yes, evidence gets evidenced.

Yes, the Senate is empaneled as a jury.

But the whole thing starts as a political thing in the House.

And the charges can be as little as a bad haircut.

It is all about political power and political cutthroatery.

The weight of evidence is virtually meaningless.

... because I resented his frequent catering to the right.

But really: just how badly DOES Bush have to screw up before the righties allow themselves to wonder whether the country might have been better off without him in office?

I'll never understand how those people think...
