HEY! THE MOST IMPORTANT MOVIE OF THE YEAR IS ABOUT TO COME OUT!
George Clooney's Good Night, and Good Luck is the most important movie of the year.

There is just no argument about it, in the fight against fascism this movie is the most powerful.

It will be released nationally, it will win a bunch of Oscars, it's gonna make a lot of money.

See it, tell your friends to see, tell you family to see it.

Here is the trailer watch it for yourself:
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/goodnightandgoodluck.html

13. I know. I'm just kidding. I read the Rolling Stone review and I've
already seen the trailer, thanks to you.

I do wonder how wide its distribution will go. I hope very wide.

16. Here is the link. After the intro there is a spot on the page to buy
tickets online. I went there to do that but found out it doesn't open in Texas until 10/21/05 or later. Unless something changes, which I hope it will I really wanted to see it on the 7th.

14. A few more rave reviews:
"This is serious grown-up entertainment with a sense of history and a sense of style, the kind of picture almost no one knows how to - - or, perhaps more accurately, can find the means to - - make anymore."
-- Stephanie Zacharek, SALON.COM

3.5/4 "In ninety-three tight, terrifically exciting minutes, Clooney makes integrity look mighty sexy."
-- Peter Travers, ROLLING STONE

"George Clooney's film about the CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow is a passionate, thoughtful essay on power, truth-telling and responsibility."
-- A.O. Scott, NEW YORK TIMES

"This is a mesmerizing film from start to finish, directed by Mr. Clooney with admirable self-assurance, and a miraculous 90 minutes."
-- Rex Reed, NEW YORK OBSERVER

"A vital chapter of mid-century history is brought to life concisely, with intimacy and matter-of-fact artistry."
-- Todd McCarthy, VARIETY

4/4 "The biggest little movie of the year - and one of the best ever about the news media."
-- Jack Mathews, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

4/4 "By far the smartest American film released in 2005."
-- Lou Lumenick, NEW YORK POST

"Clooney’s account of Murrow’s historic assaults on Senator Joseph R. McCarthy, in 1954, imitates many of Murrow’s best qualities."
-- David Denby, NEW YORKER

" gripping slice-of-life docudrama."
-- Ray Bennett, HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

20. I checked the release dates last week
and there are NO scheduled showings in my area — which doesn't really surprise me, since I live on a zit on an elbow of Kollyforniya.

So I got on an Amazon notification list for the DVD release.

I imagine GN&GL might hit theatres here in November.

2009.

Next years Che Guevara Biopic with Benico Del Toro is going to rock my world.

24. WOW!!!
Few people younger than me have even heard of Murrow. Maybe it'll teach CBS a lesson. Every time I write to them to complain, I attempt to raise his ghost. Maybe this will work.

26. From The Rolling Stone review
Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 01:00 PM by rocknation
...Clooney knows exactly what he's doing: blowing the dust off ancient TV history to expose today's fat, complacent news media as even more ready to bow to networks, sponsors and the White House.

...These aren't white guys in suits flexing their muscles to win ratings. These are newspeople flying by the seat of their pants for something they believe in, even if it costs them big time.

Take away F911, and I haven't set foot in a movie theater since 1998. But these two sentences alone suggest that this movie might acutally be WORTH nine bucks!

28. As a moviegoer...
...my habits are about the same as yours. But really...this looks very exciting. Wonder if the media will take the hint, or if they're too buried in bloodmoney to hear anything this time around.
