Poll question: Will * withdraw Miers under pressure from the right?
Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 08:19 AM by MyPetRock
It seems these folks are extremely unhappy campers about Miers. I keep hearing there were so many much better "qualified" candidates, meaning their extreme conservative views had long paper trails, while nobody knows where Miers is coming from. Clinton had to withdraw Lonnie Guerrera under pressure from the right. Is it possible * might have even more reason to do so if his Puke supporters go ballistic?

1. Nope, phony outrage
IMHO, the outrage is manufactured to make a right wing candidate appear moderate.

3. Not a Scalia
This Miers woman may be right of Scalia. She is a right wing evangelical who believes in the literal interpetation of the Bible

First to go...Emminent domain, late term abortion, campaign finance etc

8. That's the impression I'm getting too.
At first I thought it was a "please don't throw me in that briarpatch" thing, but too many are screaming. Just listen to the Pukes calling in on C-SPAN. They are livid. And virtually every rightwing pundit is writing scathing stories about this choice.

12. But, who can they turn to? they are so phucked.
the shrub is in office, the GOP controls both houses, the GOP controls the judiciary, the GOP controls the military. Heck, we can argue that the GOP controls the media.

The fact that these little shithead neocons don't get a fascist pig to join Scalia and Thomas makes them angry? well, boo hoo. But they will NOT do anything to damage what little power they still have. Even when they have control or input over all of the above, something happened which they cannot ignore. Life intruded. Seeking office and power is not even close to having responsibility, duty and actually being in office. It is a rude awakening for the neocons. Pity so much damage was done prior to this time.

13. If they figure out they're not going to get the "prize"
they've sold their soul to (i.e. an anti-choice SCOTUS and accompanying legislation) they MIGHT start attending to their real needs (i.e. food, jobs, healthcare, etc. etc.). Stranger things have happened.

7. Why should he? The far right has no place to go.
And, he'll get his crony seated with only the usual whimper from the Democrats.

9. No, they will be reassured within two days
and those hoping for a "blood and thunder" choice they could crow about in the streets will have to settle for knowing that thier darling's choice will rule the way they like even if she isn't as certifiable as John Ashcroft.

10. Are you kidding? Has he EVER admitted he made a mistake?
Although, his mistakes have always been ones that our side criticized and he would never admit a mistake to us. This may be the first time it is HIS side he has to answer to.
