Grrrrr. Just when I thought my repuke mother might be seeing the light,
she sends me this crap:

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq . This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into th! ird world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try! France, or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York

A special note to our neighbor s. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not p___ing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA
treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for! oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminat! e homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

(Please forward this to at least ten friends and see what happens! Let's get this to every USA computer!)

She also sent a really mean-spirited one about NOLA. I won't even bother to post it, as you can imagine from the above how awful it is -- full of right wing hate & inaccurate talking points.

Right now I am fuming.

Last year she sent me so much pro-boosh crap I finally deleted all her emails unread. When I missed a critical one, she was POd when I told her what I was doing. So we agreed not to send each other political stuff, but I guess like most repukes, she believes the rules apply to me, not to her.

I'm trying hard to talk myself out of sending a scathing reply. The holidays are coming up & last year's were pretty intense, but holy fucking shit, how much crap does one have to take from their mother just because she is your mother.

I guess the koolaid is stronger than even I had imagined. Grrrrrrr.

1. Fortunately, my mother is a good Democrat
If she ever sent me crap like that, I'd have to write her off for good.

2. If a president ever got up there and read such a shitty "speech,"
I'd weep. My fourteen year old brother could write that kind of garbage.

I swear I've seen that one...... a very long time ago. You might want to search here for it.

Besides, Poland is no longer standing by our side, right?

That is an old propaganda e-mail. Your mother is so desperate, like many other repukes, she's recycling old lies.

4. I feel your pain! Sometimes I could swear that my mother has
some weird version of bi-polar disorder. She doesn't agree with a lot of repug values when she's around me, but then she gets her "rabid repug bullshit" thing on. Sometimes I really wonder if she isn't in the early throes of some mental disorder, or dementia. Most people don't switch back and forth that quickly.

5. I am so sorry !
This must be very difficult.

I can only suggest avoiding all political discussions with your mom.

Maybe someday she will see the light like my brother. He was a Limbaugh listening dittohead, but realized a couple years ago he was being lied to.

:hi:

6. Sorry
You're right, that is total crap. The worst thing I've read in a long time. Even more incoherent and poorly conceived than your average episode of the O'Reilly show. And that's saying something.

Hope you washed your eyes after reading that. :D

7. Nearly a century of trying to help folks.
Yeah, like Salvador Allende, the way we helped him? Ooops! My bad. Our CIA got him killed him in a coup.

How about Negroponte, we sent him to help lots of people meet their maker.

How about in Iraq? Baghdad, 50 percent of its population are children under 15. We helped a lot of them by just killing them in the name of Shock and Awe.

Honestly, as if she thinks generosity is a one-way street. If only she knew the arm-twisting and dirty dealing that goes on behind closed doors, she would vomit her guts out.

8. Hit reply all
And refute, refute, refute.
Mention that after Katrina we were offered help by a long list of countries (France and Canada were at the top of the list) and we refused it.
I've seen this crap before - I've always thought the best way to deal was to ignore it, but I've changed my mind.
Tell her it's hateful, divisive crap that she shouldn't be forwarding and, as we used to say, wasting bandwidth. It increases division, foments international tension and destroys relationships.

10. $15 billion
The entire premise of her argument is wrong since we don't give that much in foreign, and do tell her. And a big chunk, betwee 1/5 and 1/3 goes to Israel.

13. The claim that cutting off foreign aid will pay for the cost of the war is
absurd. The US gives about $10 billion a year in non-military aid.
The war is $250 billion.

20. You can always spot the dumbass when it comes to "foreign aid."
Our foreign aid is a joke.

I never tire of reminding people of this. That 10 bil comes to, what, 35 bucks, total, per American?

Whereas last I heard, our Warren Terra's pricetag is around $4300 per capita.

"In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. "

And hey, did she mention CHINA is on list #2?
Oooops!
Better not piss them off or our currency will drop like the Chimp's polls after NOLA.

And finally... *SIGH* I feel for you. I have a sibling like that.
And yes, the koolaid is thicker than blood.

Is she always like that?

And in general, which comes first, pent-up anger or right-wing politics? Sometimes I thing our current toxic Republican infestation is just a symptom of some underlying social disorder.

You have the right. I feel your pain. My mother is completely brainwashed - Mormon, hard right wing, big Fox News Fan. Disagrees with nine of every ten things I can think of to say. The list of things we can't talk about is endless because our religious, political, and social views are in complete diametric opposition and everything has some hidden tie-in to her beliefs.

Despite mental advance screening of every statement for its potential to violate one of them, I often manage to do it, anyway, and then she tries to correct me. I've spent much of the last five years bugging on the last big argument and figuring out how to avoid the next one. I finally just went okay, if we can only talk about animals and the weather, so be it. And I think maybe at last she's realized I'm serious and will not change my mind and it's not worth trying.

Fortunately, she hasn't figured out how to use the internet or is afraid of it or something. But I'll tell you what - if she ever starts emailing me wingnut stuff, it will only happen once. Because my only response will be, "Please don't send me these kinds of things."

I also have a cousin who doesn't talk to me because, the third time she sent me some wingnut bullshit about Iraq, I told her exactly how I felt about it. It's just not worth going there.

Sometimes, the stupid people are related to you.
