American History Buffs and Legal Eagles I need your input on
this. I came across this website (see link below) and I am looking for information about this process. I am specifically looking for American History and Legal input but all discussion is welcome and appreciated.
My question to the American History buffs is this:

Have you ever heard or read about a Representative being removed from office (ie recalled for not serving constituents) on any level?

And for the legal eagles, are you familiar with any cases of this recall process AND how do the states vary on the process? Can you recommend a good comprehensive source for the latter?

www.recallthecongress.com

Paragraph from the website:

This website is created to organize local state efforts to petition the Secretary of State or other official of each state in which laws have been established for the recall process of public officials. There are 26 states in which such laws have been established leaving 24 states in which an effort is required to petition the state legislature for enactment of such a law or alternatively where the initiative has been made law to use that vehicle to bring each state of the nation into a parity of power of its citizens to control the Federal government.

My "Representative" and my Senators have long since ceased to represent me choosing instead to represent big business, corporate greed, and religious extremists. Can anyone else relate to that?

1. James Traficant
The House and Senate can expell a member by a 2/3rd vote. Traficant was expelled this way a couple years ago, other than that I don't think any members have been expelled since the Civil War.

Not sure, but I don't think a state can recall a representative or senator once they're in office ... maybe someone will correct me.

a Representative or Senator.
