Anybody here remember DU on 11/02/04?
I do. The frenzy in here tonight over rumors of possible indictments is very reminiscent of that fateful night. Remember how that turned out? I do. Maybe the corks should stay on the champagne bottles for the time being.

1. nah, I'm drinking champagne to celebrate just the THOUGHT that some of
those lying, thieving, corrupt jerks could possibly go to jail-- even a few months ago, it looked like they were nearly untouchable.

2. Exactly my thought when I read a couple of overly upbeat posts...
already celebrating--and one by a very long time DUer... So, those of us who are a bit more superstitious (or at least cautious) may need to try to tamp down the expectations for the time being... Don't count your chickens before they are hatched, right?

10. no shit. that bad, bad night blurs into a very bad few days.
I don't think I did anything for a week afterwards but lay rocking back and forth in anguish and despair.

9. exactly. On 11-2-04 we were robbed in broad daylight,
as if our ATMs were programmed to take the money out of our accounts but not slide the cash out that little slot.

This is different--people with INTEGRITY are pursuing this. And so far the courts do not entirely belong to BushCo.

I totally and completely understand your hesitation--once burned, twice shy. And we have been burned many, many, many times by our optimism and hope.

But I do believe that it is different this time. I really do.

Smoke that Diebold can't do anything about.

13. I can handle any disappointment as long as I can celebrate a moment,...
,...of hope, each day. Why NOT celebrate a moment of hope with a bit of champagne?

16. I don't even need a moment of hope to open a bottle of champagne. I
don't need any excuses any more to buy/consume French products. :)
