the irony of Bush's venue just hit me like a brick
He spoke at the "Ronald Reagan Building" and he uttered this:

BUSH: The murderous ideology of the Islamic radicals is the great challenge of our new century. Yet in many ways, this fight resembles the struggle against communism in the last century.

But al Qaeda is in fact an artifact of Reagan's celebrated defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

1. Life happens
The Cold War was (partially) a result of the United States arming the Soviet Union under Joesph Stalin during WWII.

The evolution of Southern States from Blue states to Red states was partly due to the Democrat sponsored Civil Rights Act.

The best of intentions, even when leading to a righteous victory, can have repercussions.
