Bush's Dangerous Illusion
From his speech today:

"Some observers also claim that America would be better off by cutting our losses and leaving Iraq now. It's a dangerous illusion refuted with a simple question: Would the United States and other free nations be more safe or less safe with Zarqawi and bin Laden in control of Iraq, its people and its resources?"

Maybe he should re-install Saddam. After all, Bin Laden wasn't an issue in Iraq until after 3/20/02.

1. They were more concerned with handing out contracts to friends that
handing out contracts to rebuild Iraq to Sunnis. What stupidity.

2. he forgot the other half of that statement
... or would we be safer if we left Saddam alone since he was no threat to us, albeit he was an evil guy.

3. OUR Presence perpetuates the Insurgency. The Insurgency prooves
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 02:39 PM by patrice
Iraqis can fight, so why does their Army only have one division prepared???? Because, these people, who are actually pretty skillful fighters, cannot commit their lives to a regime that very likely collapse because of its dependence on Our Presence, which is the cause of the Insurgency.

Everything about BushCo is CIRCULAR, exclusive to everything except War and Oil Profiteering. Everything implies Itself in BushWorld. Other does not exist.

4. A quote from Gary Kamiya's review of George Packer's "The Assassin's Gate"

http://www.salon.com/books/review/2005/10/07/packer/print.html

"The Assassins' Gate" is likely to be the definitive guide to one of the most outrageous scandals in U.S. history: the Bush administration's total failure to plan for the aftermath of a war of choice. That failure may have doomed the entire adventure. It cost the United States billions of dollars and hundreds of lives. Its cost to the Iraqi people and nation, which now faces a possible civil war, cannot be calculated. In a just world, Bush, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice, Feith and their underlings would be standing before a Senate committee investigating their catastrophic failures, and Packer's book would be Exhibit A.

5. More like
"Would the United states oil supply be more safe or less safe with Zarqawi and bin Laden in control of Iraq, its people and its resources?"

Because that's what it really comes down to, isn't it?

8. Uh....didn't the Silverspoon Sociopath say that
Osama was not relevant? Now he is?

The Bush Regime's game on all fronts is just about up with most Amerikans that are halfway paying attention and have an average IQ /or above.

9. Name that Rhetoric - Bush's argument is a faulty syllogism? Or what
I can't recall the term from logic or rhetoric, but WHATEVER, he has committed a CLASSIC falsehood in his statment.

What are the chances bin Laden does or will have control of Iraq? What has Bush been drinking? That's not even within the realm of PROBABILITY. It's just totally made up horseshit. So to pose a question on the basis of this improbable scenario is altogether misleading.

Mr. Bush, you are Totally Flunked.
