7. Two
Because Fitzgerald is going to indict him like NOW unless he gives up something bigger. So of course he will to save his ass.

And/or Judy Miller gave him something that doesn't fit with Rove's previous testimony and Rove must clarify-and of course-this means it's in his own best interests to deny (perjury) or confess and hand him someone bigger to save his ass.

did not corroborate his. He has testified 3 times already, I cannot imagine he is back for anything else.

17. The office
of the president versus the office of the vice president. I have a thread from a day or two ago on here (German Shepherds and the Berlin Wall) that explains it. It isn't far down on the first page of GD .... I hope! .... It was intended to make the next few days a little easier to understand.

26. "Now I'm telling the truth..."
Now I'm telling the truth,
I'm finished with lies, lies.
If you don't believe me now,
You'll never believe me now.
You'll think it's a lie.

Couldn't we just put away the ancient history
Throw up our hands at the unsolved mystery.

I'm going to have my head examined,
I'll prove you were wrong about me,
Move the needle telepathically,
I'll turn everything around and confuse you,
Talk faster and faster til I lose you,
I'll fix it so you can't remember what was true,
And there'll be nothing to remind you.

Is going down for this. I forsee the repugs being banished to the wilderness for many decades to come. I know he's been terrible, but maybe bushco has been a blessing in disguise by showing the world how utterly corrupt and incompetent they really are!

31. Gosh I hope you're right! ...they're such exquisitely 'good 'liars,
though... I really hope that it's poay off time for Rove. He has ruined so many lives, I want to see his ruined. (Almost more than Cheney...B* I consider to be already ruined.) Yup, revenge and I don't even feel guilt about it I hate these people that much.

21. Rove offered to return in July in the future; he was taken up on the offer
Rove offered in July to return to the grand jury for additional testimony and Fitzgerald accepted that offer Friday after taking grand jury testimony from the formerly jailed New York Times reporter Judith Miller.

Before accepting the offer, Fitzgerald sent correspondence to Rove's legal team making clear that there was no guarantee he wouldn't be indicted at a later point as required by the rules.

Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, said Thursday he would not comment on any ongoing discussion he has had with Fitzgerald's office but that he has been assured no decisions on charges have been made. Rove would first have to receive what is known as a target letter if he is about to be indicted.

"I can say categorically that Karl has not received a target letter from the special counsel. The special counsel has confirmed that he has not made any charging decisions in respect to Karl," Luskin said.

He said that Rove "continues to be cooperative voluntarily" with the special counsel investigation and "beyond that, any communication I have or may have in the future are going to be treated as completely confidential."

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I remember the big Rhubarb at the time here. It was pointed out then that Rove had agreed to come back any time the prosecutor wanted him to for additional information / statements.

when you quote an article you need the link and no more than four paragraphs from the article. FR has been sued for this.

29. Maybe some minor detail; Fitz is just dotting "i"s and crossing "t"s?
Or he's playing Columbo with some bombshell question...
"Mr. Rove, there's just one last thing I can't figure out..."

Or maybe Sweet Judy CrudeLies spilled some major beans?

MAYBE...100 other things I've never thought of.

This whole thing is just WAAAAY too complex for me
to make any valid conclusions anymore.

And that is to Mr. Fitz's credit; he's really
run a tight ship and kept the lid FIRMLY on any leaks.
It's all too much for me to keep every possibility
straight anymore (I'm a crappy chess player).

I just take comfort in knowing that this prosecutor is among
the best, and I trust that he does NOTHING without a good reason.
