The freepers are worried
<Sounds like Rove is going to be indicted. Why else would he do this at the last minute?>

<Uh oh. This also means the reporters weren't targets at all as they presumably never got the target warning about themselves.>

<Sounds like Rove is wanting to get the last word in now that he believes he may be indicted. They just keep piling on. Politics of personal destruction is working for the RATs.>

Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 03:17 PM by marmar
Ain't that a bitch! How could they have the gall to accuse the left of the "politics of personal destruction." They've clearly forgotten about American Political History, circa 1992-2000.

17. As we've all figured out by now,

in the minds of freepers only Republicans count as real persons. And that only sometimes, apparently.

Bill Clinton was just chopped liver, really. That $70 million spent to investigate a bad $100,000 investment deal that ended in exoneration and a 1,000 page graphic indulgence in pornographic detail of half a dozen blow jobs between consenting adults, that was all decency and integrity and humility and search for the truth and scientific research and a struggle for attainment of justice.

And if you buy that, I have a bridge to sell you which connects Manhattan to Long Island.

16. Because they are all involved in scandals too?
That would be my guess.

They are all shaking in their boots
wondering how long before someone
uncovers their complicity in equally squallid
affairs...with the exception of VERY few.

BOTH sides of the aisle are corrupt, up to their
necks in nefarious corporate payola scams.
They ALL serve the military industrial /multinational
corporate mafia, not we, the people.

I'm sure if we had one Fitzgerald for every
politician, Dem and Repub, we would have to
build a whole new prison to hold them all.

23. Since the entire system runs on money and connections,
it's hard for anyone to get elected without playing the money game. A few are from working-class districts where honesty (and seniority) are appreciated; a few are independently wealthy but still have real democratic values; a few play the money game but still fight for the people; lots and lots, I think, just get sucked into the system and lose any principles they might have had to begin with.

Suggestion: require all media outlets to provide 10 minutes daily (say) of FREE advertising for all major candidates during campaigns. This is done Israel, as I understand, and would seem to be a way to take a lot of the money out of politics.

Also helpful might be re-instating laws concerning media monopolies and requiring accurate news and honest discussion as a price for use of public airwaves.

Just my 2 cents.

10. They really don't and that's kind of scary
they have no context in which to imagine a real investigation of a real crime (treason).

Their context is Clinton's blow job, which was a personal attack for a political goal, and they can't recognize the difference.

39. I agree
If the Democrats got involved in a big way, all BushCo's messes would then fall under the heading of "partisan politics."

Now that *'s approval rating is tanking and it's safe for them to do so, the media are finally starting to do their jobs--that, and the facts are biased against BushCo. No need for Harry or Nancy to do anything, at least not right now.

I think * and his friends are falling apart very nicely all by themselves.

To: West Coast Conservative
Even if he gets indicted, all Rove needs to do is to run out the clock until one day after the '08 election. Then its pardon time. If McCain is the GOP candidate, Bush might not even wait that long. It will be two-for: a going away gift for a loyal soldier and a kidney punch to a disloyal one.

(in other words, My president is a dick and I like him!)

Plame Game - The Final Curtain

Via inside tip: , confirming Reuters, that indictments in the Plame case are to be announced this week.

However...

1. No surprise,

There will be no indictment for Rove or Libby. However, some journalists (Familiar names) may be tapped on conspiracy to obstruct a Federal investigation, and other second tiered charges, yet it is not expected that any substantive indictments will be announced.

Fitzgerald will announce that there was no statuatory leak of Valerie Plame's identitiy did NOT occur as the 1982 Intelligence Identities Protection Act, Specifically 421(a)(b)(c), did not apply to subject Valerie Plame, and were therefore not considered in this case.

Therefore the charges will be strictly related to the above mentioned secondary charges, if any.

Extra note: Word is that Judith Miller's 'publicity stunt' and book deal hasn't set well with the Prosecutorial team.

More to come.

UPDATE: Rove's three month offer of additional testamony has been accepted, although Fitzgerald has had the written testamony all along. This addition testamony has nothing to do with Miller or Scooter, but has to do with Cooper, who as everyone should have noticed is markedly absent of late.

More: My feeling is that Fitz now needs this additional testimony to move towards Cooper, whom I long had suspicion that he all along worked in a setup on Rove.

Normally at this point in a investigation, "11th hour" testamony is crossing the "Ts", getting things down, now that Fitz SHOULD have the story of what happened, it all points back to Cooper, although other media types should be ducking as well.

I can't see, nor can my source see Rove's testimony being accepted at this time just to "fry him".

Tracked to Tom Mcguire.

Yeah, the journalist's went to the WH begging for a CIA agent to out. After much cajoling, Rove & Libby caved simultaneously and gave up the name of an agent who just happened to be the wife of a WH enemy.

I dunno, am I catching the Freeper logic so far...?

then why does this "sh*t" make a difference.

Or maybe, the real question is, if their ideas are so valid, why do they have to lie, cheat, and steal in order to try to put them in action.
