Question Re: PlameGate: what happens if grand jury expires
with just 13 working days left, could Fitz bring the indictments and then the GOP just let the grand jury expire without extension?

1. It Is The Jury That Indicts - Not The Prosecutor
The Jury votes to find a true indictment, or not. If they disban then that's it. A jury that is not empaneled can not vote and without the vote there is no indictment.

2. The jury indicts. If they don't Fitz goes home with nothing.
If they don't indict by the deadline, its over.

4. it's not over,
They just convene a new grand jury, and continue where the last one left off. Would be some time to bring the new jurors up to speed on the evidence I'm sure.

Hasn't this happened once already in this case?

6. He needs funding to do that. Who would agree on the Repub side?
They would argue that another jury would be a waste of money.

7. Baloney.
The "repubs" have no say in this process. The judge hearing the grand jury proceedings -- alone -- makes the decision. He has agreed to everything Fitzgerald has asked so far.

3. He might seek an extension, as has been rumored.
