PlameGate EndGame
I just had a thought that is rather troubling...

What if every official involved in PlameGate implicates Bush to avoid prosecution...?

They've had time to align their stories and figure out who the fall-guy will be.

If it's Bush, there is nothing anyone can do about it. Bush is a sitting president and can only be impeached.

And guess who needs to agree to impeach him... that's right... it won't happen.

I'm concerned this is the end-game scenario for the traitors.

1. It would further destroy chimpy
He would be powerless for the rest of his term. No more (imaginary) political capital. Poor chimpy.

4. Is that a denial "No I don't want that" or is there a reason
that this is not plausible?

13. Both really.
I don't think it is plausible, and I would much rather see them all go down in flames. Sorry, I was leaving work. I suppose I should have been more clear and less abrupt.

7. Could that really happen?
I don't think pointing the finger at Bush would absolve them of their culpability in participating, would it?

8. If they all have the right stories and all say Bush ordered them to do it
Besides, Bush can pardon each and every one of them.

10. The Nuremburg defense didn't work for Lynndie
But it just might work for elite power mongers.

9. I don't think this is the case.

I've been surprised before though, but a political firestorm would happen then. Everyone in politics who ever trumpetted Bush's cause would look like an amazing fool (ok, moreso than they already do). I think it would be political suicide for the republicans to go the leader of their party like that.

12. By implicating Bush would they avoid prosecution?
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:23 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
Sounds like a non-sequitur, to me, though I'm no expert.

But would only the boss of a crime syndicate be found liable for the activities of his heavies, since he was the prime mover, so to speak? Surely, not. Certainly, the Nuremburg trials wouldn't cop that plea.

Snap! HereSince. You beat me to it.
