2. Americans are too willing to be led.....

like sheep to the slaughter. They'll continue to be manipulated by the BFEE's terra' scams and not bother to educate themselves about it. They'll continue this way forever. Americans are very, very stupid people in my opinion. It makes me sad and ashamed to be one most of the time. Whenever I'm abroad I tell everyone I'm Canadian and hope upon hope they believe me.

4. And unfortunately this brings up "elitism." Because most of us on this

site probably consider ourselved to be thoughtful and discerning people, but when we consider questions of propaganda we refer to Americans, who seem to be the Great Unwashed in many of our conversations.

and the Rove story is juxtaposed with the terra alert. I wonder if this is obvious enough for most people to start adding 2 and 2?

7. Who needs Rove to spread fear when people on DU are willing to do it?

Some speculation about avian flu here, a bit of baseless fearmongering over a MIHOP attack there, the occaisional poll that naturally assumes that everything that happens is caused by Bush ... Voila! Instant demoralisation, instillation of a sense of powerlessness and high-quality attention.
