There just may be a real terrorist attack soon ...
because it's the only thing that might stop the hemorraging of the Republican party.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

If the Bush people find themselves in real jeopardy, a terrorist will "accidentally" slip through our superb Homeland Security protections and attack an American city.

And people will die.

Maybe you.

Maybe me.

But the Ameerikun peeple will once again rally around * and he will have plenty of support for the next three years.

Just wait and see.

- Nostradamus

1. Your logic is flawed; as evidenced by Katrina,
DHS is anything but superb!

4. can we have someone on the left say this???
Dean, Reid, Kerry, Pelosi, someone say this publically. That really could save lives if they did speak up on this. Someone has to get the idea of MIHOP in the publics head.

5. Bullshit
Expect a capture and show trial. An actual attack would kill his presidency.

7. If it happens
it will be in a Blue state. NYC is still an obvious place, but LA or SF or Chicago are possibilities, too.

8. Sadly I agree... Our only hope is that they realize...
That another terrorist attack would be the nail on their own political coffins.

It won't work anymore. The "We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here," line has been used too much.

If there's another attack on U.S. soil, their few remaining constituents will abandon the party completely. We rallied around the President once. So many of us did.

Now we'll realize we've been lied to. We weren't fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here.

We will realize that nearly 2,000 service men and women, and countless civilians, more than perished in the World Trade Center, died in Iraq. For nothing.

It will become blatantly obvious that Iraq did not help us win this war on terror. It will become obvious that Republicans cannot keep us safe. They'll become the ruling party that allowed America to be attacked. Twice. On her own soil.

The house of cards is falling. Another terrorist attack will only fuel the Republican implosion.

some unsuspecting idealistic Islamic Fundamentalist will get "orders" and be led to a NY subway with a bomb in a backpack or a baby carriage and then whamm!

We've caught a terrist! Look how good the clown prince is at protecting us! We can't send him to jail now can we?

If I was thinking like BushCo right now, I would think tomorrow or this weekend would be the opportune time for a major distraction.

God, I hope I'm wrong. I hope it's just this hat that's squeezing my brain too tight!:tinfoilhat:

But I wonder how far hese folks will go if they are really trapped in a corner.

And "superb" should have been in quotes.
Sarcasm - you know.

12. No, the conservative GOP ers will raise the INCOMPETENT flag
Another terra attack, and the clown will HAVE to raise taxes. They don't like that shit. Between the spending like a drunken Sailor on the war, and the GASP! SOCIAL PROGRAM spending exceeding LBJ's in the post-hurricane aftermath, they've had it up to here with him. Plus, some on the right aren't comfy with Mier, so that's another thing to pile on about...and without Karl at his side, he's foundering like an overloaded scow.

One more thing, and he'll start feeling more heat, not less.

16. Suicide bomber in OK,....BushCO does NOT want coverage of that,....
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 05:56 PM by Just Me
,...because it would prove his policies are radicalizing people and actually making us far less safe from terrorism. Movevoer, a terrorist act would counter the "we haven't been attacked so it must be working" meme.

BushCO wants to control through fear-mongering and a false sense of safety.

bullshit, and bombs if we actually got hit by somebody, it wouldn't matter how many photo ops bush did with firemen, it would be OVER.

19. An attack will highlight how unprepared the US still is, after 4 years
The Repugs would never be able to use the phrase "strong on defense" ever again. Our borders are WIDE open and * does nothing.

23. I've got it! Disease crisis!
That's how they'll do it!

A terrible disease will enter the US soon, cities will be quarantined, martial law declared, and we will be forced to rely on the administration. All this falderol of illegal activity will be pushed aside in order to combat the terrible plague that will sweep the nation.

Where did this terrible avian flu come from? Some government laboratory? Start it out in Asia and no one will suspect it came from Washington.

Damn I hate thinking about this stuff. I wish they would all just go away.
