Why Rove is going back before the Grand Jury
Last week Judith Miller spend a good part of a the day in the Witness Chair. Now after 85 days in the slammer you know she's going to be in some kinda of mood.:grr:

So, what if after a few hours of sweating out questions, she goes and says something like:

"Well, Scooter said Karl told him."

Just in an off-casual like way, of course.:sarcasm:

Could Karl be headed back for an encore cause one of the "outriggers" (as in WMD/Iraq operatives) is a bit peevish?

Or is there maybe something else the Judy said?

HMMMMMMMMMMM??????

After all it IS rather odd that Judy talks, then Karl walks (back in again, that is.)

1. Trying to flummnox
the grand Jurors - racistly supposing that because they are mostly African American that they can be confused enough to let himn off the hook.

9. But that's not really possible
in front of a grand jury unless you get the help of the prosecutor. The prosecutor calls him and asks the questions or elicits the information he wants. There is not opportunity for Rove to give "his side" of the story or to have his own lawyer ask him questions or argue on his behalf to the jury. If this were the real world and not the bizarro world of politics, a potential target offering to testify before a grand jury would almost always mean he had already flipped, i.e. agreed to cooperate against his co-defendants. Very strange set of events, but I think Rove has a deal.

3. No, Rove going back is a last act of desperation
and Fitzgerald is more than willing to hand him the rope he intends to hang himself with.

My guess is the PNAC folks all threw Rove under the bus, and Rove has guessed it so he's taking Libby and Hadley with him.

6. Actually Walt, I was wondering something
Judy was a big mouthpiece for the whole WMD thingmie. She got her "journalistic reputation tail-feathers" toasted on that little favor, thank you very much Mr. Rove.

Could she have dropped the dime on Dear Ol'Karl cause of it?

11. I think Libby was her first source
and KArl confirmed it.

I think Libby has been her -in- into the White House from the beginning, and his "love letter in code" told her in no uncertain terms, "we're rolling over on Rove."

I further think that Rove, Libby, and Hadley will definitely be indicted. There are three or four others who could possibly be indicted. I further believe Cheny will be named as an unindicted co-conspirator. Anything byond that may be wishful thinking on my part.

14. Dropping Dime, Rolling Over, same old, same old
If the letter was code and it is as you say, then do you think when she said the "magic words" before the Grand Jury, there might have been a bit "joy" in her heart?

7. Judy Miller
Why did she go to jail for 87 days ( orwhatever) if she had the go-ahead to talk?

8. My fears about this are the following:
1) Fitzgerald got the photos of all the persons he holds dear in the crosshairs of telescopic rifle sights and the grand jurors are wondering why sedans with tinted windows are parked outside their houses all night.
2) Fitzgerald rope-a-dopes while Karl "explains" the whole thing away.

Hope I'm wrong.

16. He knows what Matt Cooper told GJ and what Cooper couldn't remember
I think that Rove has figured out some angle to exploit what Matt Cooper has revealed about what he told the Grand Jury. Matt perhaps gave Rove an opportunity through Matt's statements about not recalling certain details of their conversation. Rove may think he can convince Grand Jury that Cooper did not recall their conversation accurately.

17. It is insane
to assume you will get the opportunity to "convince" the grand jury of anything. It is not an open forum, he will only get a chance to answer the questions put to him. If that is his goal he is getting some terrible advice. All it will be is another opportunity to commit perjury. It seems to me it can only be 1) bad advice 2)hubris on an astronomical scale or 3) he's rolled over.

20. You forgot to add to the equation that Rove thinks he's invincible..
..and plenty smarter than any grand jury..

He will be under oath, he won't get to direct the questions and his attorney cannot be present...

Methinks that Fitz is going to frame things to see if he can get that porcine ass-wipe to flip, or failing that, let him dig a deeper hole...Either way Rove is going to get indicted, as is Scooter, and quite possibly Cheney...

The fun part is going to be watching the rethuglicans and their MSM whores try and spin perjury as not that big of a deal...unless you're a Democratic President that is....

Any guesses as to when the indictments come down? If Turd blossom is sticking his multiple chins into the noose tomorrow, the soonest we'll hear anything vis a vis charges will be tuesday next week because Fitz will need monday to talk to the jurors...Any other guesses?

18. If Karl were half as smart
as he thinks he is, he'd be a genius.

He's a clever boy - no - more like conniving, but he's not really that smart, ya know? He just thinks he is. His willingness to stoop to any level is what gives him his "edge".

19. A quest for truth ....
More than anything else, Karl values the truth. Many people think he worships power, or twinkies. But he is more into truth at this phase of his life. This often occures in the pre-incarceration stages.
