my friend back from Iraq
and i had a good visit last night. his message to us:
know that number one is us, all of us. we are the moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons and grandparents and we are who they defend. if indeed the war was for oil and not defense, then it is our obligation to stop this war and hold accountable the liars and thieves who waged it.
members of the military are obliged to support their commander in chief without question.

if there was good news from Iraq, it would be all over MSM

my friend loves America but does not understand why we are not doing our part. he made me cry talking about his dead friends, and the deplorable living conditions in Iraq.

im not sure there is a reason for this post but it feels good to share his thoughts with y'all

peace

2. He didn't mean DU, he meant Americans IN GENERAL (I think)
and not enough of them are or this damn war would already be history!

3. I would guess he is talking about the US as a whole
As a whole, the nation has simply slept while the federal government ripped down democracies in the name of profit, destroyed and enslaved the lives of millions if not billions in a regime of misery and poverty across the planet. Only a minority of people have been screaming since day one at these atrocities, but they've been largely ignored and marginalized by the corporate news media or been attacked by the nutjobs as a bunch of liberal crybabies who blame America first.

4. Did you tell him Half of a Million of us tried in DC on Sept. 24?
Perhaps he did not even know about it being in the military. Show him the web sites and photos of the anti-war movement in the USA! It is here until the last soldier comes home!

Give him a hug for me. :)

9. Tell him too that
almost 400 of us got arrested to bring them home. We are dedicated - and we are growing. We will get this shit stopped. We won't give up.

Tell him 'thank you' from me for doing his job. I just wish his boss wasn't such a cheating, lying bastard.

5. I hope this fellow doesn't think he is defending me in Iraq
As far as I am concerned invading and occupying another country to steal their oil is bad business and is actually making things more dangerous for me and my family over here in America.

6. "Not doing our part" I wonder if that comes from their news source in Iraq
Ed Schultz was in Alabama after Katrina, and was talking with some of the Florida national guard just back from Iraq. Their impression was that liberals don't support the troops, and what was left talk radio? Schultz will apparently start broadcasting to the services abroad, including Iraq, on October 17. He and his wife, Wendy, worked to change their minds, he thought they may have done some good. So, if the troops only hear on side, how would they know what we are doing, where we stand?

Could that be it, about us not doing our part?

8. "not doing our part" means the nation should either support the continuing
war in Iraq which means as many troops and support as needed OR demand that we get out of Iraq immediately and that means an ordered retreat which should take a few weeks at most.

If that's what he means and my experience suggests it is, then he is 100% right.
