I think newbies to the right wing should watch those programs to

observe and study how the propaganda is delivered.

They need to analyze and digest the distortions, emphasis, omissions, and the special way they have in calling commentary news.

They need to see how the talking points dominate. They need to observe the struggle guest experts have in being original when it's their turn to deiver the talking points of the day - from one hour to the next. They need to observe the repetition.

They need to observe how the big guns are called out and on what occasions.

They need to see how important news evaporates while they spend precious time pimping for the WH, PNAC, and the Cabal.

They need to watch the ratio of guests from the AEI and Heritage Foundation in relation to other guests.

They need to watch the old military guys pimp for the Pentagon.

They need to observe how once honorable journalists morph to propagandists.

They need to ponder what goes on behind the scenes when the producers give the orders to the hosts and the upper levels when the VP's give the orders to the producers - and then even higher up when the ownership company gives it orders to the cable CEO's - such as Jack Welch to the CEO of the NBCs. They need to wonder who it is that consults with the WH, Pentagon, CIA to arrange the talking points and discuss who is best to do deliver the propaganda.

They need to think in terms of Izvestia and Pravda and make a decision to figure out the differences between the news in the USSR of the past and our news.

Then, they can avoid Fox and Friends and know that the right wing machinery is chucking a long because they are integral to right wing success.

They are part of the right wing gigantic war machine against the people - a war campaign that costs a bundle.

6. News Hounds worked on Outfoxed
News Hounds are good folks. I've posted there quite a bit.

They were the people who helped Robert Greenwald research Outfoxed, which was shown at many Dem house parties last summer. I'm sure many of you saw it at a Dem house party, as I did.

After the film, they put together their blog, and launched it about 15 months ago. It's done well.

I featured them in my comic strip recently.

I forget the dates, but it was about two weeks ago.

7. You know, I don't have the stomach to even read that
Just seeing the names Hannity, Limbpaugh, Cal Thomas is enough to turn my stomach.

Yes, I know that one needs to know what the other side is saying but...I think that getting this in small dozes on CNN or the WSJ or even here is enough for me.

Sorry.

10. I didn't know about this - thanks for posting.
Not that I have watched Faux for anything other than Simpson's and baseball for several years now - I have counted on DU to keep me up to date on what the whack jobs say on a daily basis.
