Was just told that us Bush-bashers are driving Repubs away from the pool
We have a bunch of people who have been bashing Bush and one of the Bush-lovers from the condo community told me. "They don't like hearing this stuff and are coming to the pool to relax and forget their problems."

My friend (who is usually paranoid of talking about politics or offending anyone) said to the Bush-bot "We don't have freedom of speech and are not supposed to say anything bad about Bush now??"

There are a ton of people who have been bashing him lately around here. I have to admit - I'm probably one of the instigators of most of it. There are a several people who come down to the pool just to talk politics and really enjoy it.

Unfortunately their votes for Bush have created lots of problems for the rest of us.

8. Good.
The last thing a pool needs is a bunch of fat, hairy freepers trying to lose their farmer tans.

If they can't stand to hear different opinions, maybe they shouldn't be in America.

12. Yes - I'm tired of having to clam up all the time
just to not offend their precious little feelings. What these fools fail to understand is that things are getting worse and worse every day under Bush. With Clinton in charge, things were getting BETTER. I'm tired of watching my benefits and my peace of mind and my daily life in general worsen - everything is harder, everything takes longer and costs more, everyone is stressed out, and *WE* have to be quiet about it? Fat bloody chance.

due to 9/11 of course, they were trying to smack talk down every lib at the pool they could find.

Now all of a sudden they've lost their high legs to stand on.

14. Waaaah!
Keep it up. You do have that right just as they had the right and still think it is relevant to constantly bring up an EX president and all they thought he did and continues to do. Babies, big fat babies. You ought to start a club with T shirts and everything. It is time they learned that we are allowed to speak. Screw them.

16. That's the way it is. The Bushies have to start asking "why?"
I'm a member of a cartoonist's message board. Even here, politics keeps coming up. The righties are complaining that they can't speak support of Bush anymore because they're always ganged up upon. I say Get a fucking clue! The guy you're backing has gotten everybody so pitted against one and other, so pissed off in general, that even a cartoonist's board isn't "safe." Why are they asking "why?"

Your pool encounter is another common one I've seen. My wife and I are friends with a republican couple, and back when Bushie was "a winner," they proudly touted their tax cuts and made "libbie" jokes. Now, they find they're constantly in the minority, and if they ever dare spew some support of Bush, they get pounced upon unmercifully. So they just think everyone NOW should just stop talking politics.

BULLSHIT, BUSHIES! This is the roost you built, and all the chickens are a'comin' home! They really do seem to want to just wave their hands and say "Oh, please, let's just not talk about it! Can't we all get along?"

FUCK NO! We told you this would happen, Bushies. We've said this for SIX years, not five...since he was "campaigning" (read: being installed). My position re: Bush has not changed one iota since 1999, yet now it the Bushies who don't want to talk politics. Oh, what ill fortune befalls you whenst you've revealed yourself a shill! Fuck you, Bushies. This is your deal, and we've been waiting for this for a LONG time. All it is going to take at this point is the one well known talking head -- and there will be one soon -- who makes the Edward R. Murrow-esque speech saying "enough is enough! Bush is done!" It will happen. Not soon enough, but it will happen. I think the tipping point has been passed.

17. In honor of all the lonely bush-bots
Beatles › Eleanor Rigby

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from ?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong ?

Father mckenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working. darning his socks in the night when there’s nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Eleanor rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father mckenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

27. fuck 'em
Oh, I get it, make diehard Republicans feel like victims, despite the fact that it was their inability to see reality (as well as their misplaced loyalty) that got our country into this very serious mess from which we might never recover. Before you feel too sorry for the poor Republicans, however just remember that if they were still on top and truly in complete control (as was their plan), they would be gleefully watching as the rest of us were marched to the ovens. I say fuck 'em.

30. This is a major problem with our country
That it somehow is OK to ask folks to not talk politics. It's like we are all supposed to only focus on our own lives and not take politics seriously. We need to discuss our differences and get informed.

There are many discussions I've heard in public spaces that I don't want to join. I've never thought that made me unwelcome. The bushbots are absurd.
