when religion counts
in the run up to Roberts hearing -- the bushies and repugs gasped at the idea of Roberts' religious beliefs would be questioned as they related to how he would rule

now in the Miers case - they are touting her religous beliefs as one of her "qualifications"

seems to me the bushies/repugs opened the door for this line of questioning to reassure those in their base who are upset -- "wink wink nudge nudge say no more say no more"

will the Dems bring it up and if so will the bushies/repugs gasp?

3. It's kinda strange, though, if you look at the faith of the SC. Mostly,
RC, in the reign of the Evangelicals. My personal belief, the Evangelicals converted to RC to get the backing. I come from an RC family, and even my aunt agrees it is possible.

My BF (best friend) was bragging about the SBC that switched to RC and was a very conservative member of the congregation. It started me thinking, as a Liberal Christian, would they stoop this low, answer, YES.

4. Ummm? Hypocrites? Are they ever so?
I am getting really sick of repugs, don't know how much more I can take? Seriously, I have about had enough! What is wrong with Americans that they can't see through the utter hypocrisy? It is mind numbing to say the least!

8. You just answered your own question - They are mind numbing.
They really are all over the place to justify their actions. The sheeple don't question, their minds are already numb. Hence their need for talking points so they know what to think on what ever subject.

For the rest of us, their sheer gall of them expecting everyone else to support them in their hypocrisy is mind numbing. Reality is not and has never been their long suit, so they make it up as the situation arises.

I am still amazed at the capacity of the human mind's ability to rationalize absolutely anything.
The flip-flopping of the religion issue for back to back supreme court nominees is no exception.

Disconnect anyone?

9. When will someone ask about Laura's view on abortion and Roe?
Since she has spoken up and gotten into the argument, we need someone (David Gregory, I'm looking at you) to ask about Laura Bush's desire to see Roe v. Wade continue, and whether her endorsement of Miers means Laura thinks Miers will vote to keep Roe.

It has to be done, and the sooner the better.

Olbermann, you too!
