I HATE BLOOMBERG! For the RNC, and for the FAKE TERROR ALERT >>>

He let the RNC take over OUR city, he just handed it over to them, and locked down all our streets, arrested whole crowds of people at ONCE in NETS, and threw hundreds of us in jail, Guantanamo on the Hudson, a BUS GARAGE, for objecting. It was martial law in this city, it was a freaking POLICE STATE, but I guess New Yorkers have forgotten about that because the trains are running on time.

AND THEN HE TOOK A PAGE FROM BUSH'S BOOK AND USED A FAKE TERROR ALERT TO MANIPULATE THE PUBLIC. That was last week and that is criminal. I can't imagine how a city that went 80% for Kerry is supporting this whiny little lying prick. Why are New Yorkers letting him get away with this??? I'm furious.

I HATE BLOOMBERG!!!

Last Thursday. At 10 AM Eastern Time, the President addresses the National Endowment for Democracy, once again emphasizing the importance of the war on terror and insisting his government has broken up at least 10 terrorist plots since 9/11.

At 3 PM Eastern Time, five hours after the President’s speech has begun, the Associated Press reports that Karl Rove will testify again to the CIA Leak Grand Jury, and that Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald has told Rove he cannot guarantee that he will not be indicted.

At 5:17 PM Eastern Time, seven hours after the President’s speech has begun, New York officials disclose a bomb threat to the city’s subway system - based on information supplied by the Federal Government. A Homeland Security spokesman says the intelligence upon which the disclosure is based is “of doubtful credibility.” And it later proves that New York City had known of the threat for at least three days, and had increased police presence in the subways long before making the announcement at that particular time. Local New York television station, WNBC, reports it had the story of the threat days in advance, but was asked by "high ranking federal officials" in New York and Washington to hold off its story.

Less than four days after revealing the threat, Mayor Michael Bloomberg says "Since the period of the threat now seems to be passing, I think over the immediate future, we'll slowly be winding down the enhanced security."

While news organizations ranging from the New York Post to NBC News quote sources who say there was reason to believe that informant who triggered the warning simply ‘made it up’, a Senior U.S. Counter-terrorism official tells the New York Times: "There was no there, there."

2. one reason is there's no opposition

I can't believe in New York City we can't put up a viable candidate for mayor. What the hell is up with that. Anthony Weiner is great - but too new on the scene right now to garner wide appeal. I think he may a reall comer in '09.

I also like John Liu, he's impressed me. Hope maybe in '09.

3. It's a curious phenomenon. Lots of support for this creature....
even on DU.

His reelect effort... dishonest, vindictive, simplistic.... is largely confirming my earlier impression: he's bad... REALLY bad news.

Lot's of discussion re. this subject in NY Forum.

6. I don't effing understand it
either. As a New Yorker, with the burden of a stupid husband who supports this jackass, I don't get it. I hate the man.

7. Let me explain
His money scared away a LOT of people. He's already spent well over $50m. He could spend another $100m and not miss it.

He has a lot of big money supporters in the Democratic Party.

Ferrer has not really reached out to anyone in the white neighborhoods where you'd expect a Dem to do well.

Ferrer has been all over the place politically. Liberal one day, conservative the next. He's a nice guy but an old clubhouse pol.

Ferrer sat on his hands in 2001 after losing to Mark Green in the primary. Many people who worked for Green never forgave that. Indeed, the day after election day 2001 Ferrer was smiling at a City Hall photo op with Bloomberg.

The big real estate money is for Bloomberg. And don't underestimate the fact that he is jewish - that pulls a lot of votes.

8. All true except....
the liberal one day, conservative the next and the "old clubhouse pol" stuff.

The clubhouse pol is mythology that people unfamiliar with BX politics just won't give-up. He's from the REFORM wing of the Bx Dem party and opposed the old clubhouse pols from the regular organization.

I have no ax to grind... voted for Green and would vastly prefer him... but Ferrer was aligned with Badillo, Abrams, Koppell et al... the "good guys", NOT with the Bx machine.

Liberal/conservative flip flops? Some examples might persuade me.

10. Well . . .
http://www.villagevoice.com/news/index.php?issue=0535&page=barrett&id=67310

I supported Giff. Ferrer had the best chance to win - he could play the two New Yorks, play against Bloomberg's strengths with class politics, talk about the distant Mayor with the fabulous wealth and play him with Bush like Corzine is wisely doing to Forrester in NJ. Bloomberg's biggest problem is "he's not one of us." that's what people don't like about him. If Ferrer set that tone, he'd at least make a race of it.

As for clubhouses where is Freddy Godfather Roberto Ramirez these days . . . ?
