"Contraception is not a traditional value."
And other funny things heard today on Vatican Radio

"American Girl dolls are worse then satan himself" (okay, I may have fudged on that one a little)

"Walter Cronkite is an Elitist Radical Leftist Liberal, out of touch with today's swing toward the moral majority"

You gotta love Dr. Drew and that tax free propaganda network.

7. I caught a little of that show
every time I tune into it I get ill, but it's how I keep trak of what the wingnuts are saying (and it reminds me why I stopped going to Mass) apparently the American Girl website had link to something called girls.inc (or something like that) that, I gather that this other website discusses sexuality including contraception and abortion (oh the horror! :sarcasm:). Made me glad I spent all that money on the dolls when two of my nieces went through their American Girl phase.

Actually, I'm not sure how closely aligned this outfit is to the Vatican as I've heard them complaining about Vatican II on occasion. When I've heard them do that I've been tempted to phone in and call them "cafeteria Catholics". As that is what they call Catholics who ignore the rules on birth control, abortion and Gays.

12. Relevant Radio is a joke
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 08:14 PM by CatholicEdHead
it is GOP-Orthodox-Catholic radio. Many RR shows also come from Tom Monaghan's Ave Maria Radio. :puke:

Think of it as Fundie radio with a Catholic twist.

15. Here is Ave Maria Radio website
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 08:28 PM by CatholicEdHead
http://www.avemariaradio.net/

Definitaly playing towards the current "Orthodox" movement in the Church. Monaghan (founder of Dominos Pizza) is a whole other matter.

Kestra in the Afternoon is the right religious Rush.

They selectivly cut from Vatican Radio. Listen to this show for yourself:

http://www.oecumene.radiovaticana.org/ram-us/inglese_2150_r_1.ram

It is set up more like BBC World Service than Rush and other "Conservative" talk shows.

17. Thanks for the links
See the thing is, there is a college station that plays some really cool stuff, BUT only in a very small radius from when I begin my commute home, then it fades into church chat. Sometimes on the way to work I tune in because i want to get as much of the good stuff as i can. No kidding, sometimes it fades from on to the other in a two block stretch.

13. I LOVE American Girlsdolls and stuff!
They are truly the best!

I have 3 granddaughters and I would vouch for the American Girl merchandise in a heart beat. They are great. My granddaughers have excellent birthday party games and books from this company. They have wonderful stories to accompany their historically located dolls. My granddaughters are enthralled by them.
