22. I'm loving MSNBC!
I don't "DO" TV much and I don't have cable. Is this a regular channel or cable?

And I've seen some good "Hardball" vids on DU, is that cable or msm TV?

You know though, even Faux was talking about this today! Seems the kid gloves are off with the pRes and his illustrious BushCo.

Even David Letterman hit him the other night. Looks like all the high level TV cronies are realizing it's time to bail and are letting loose the media dogs on the scent of the most hiliarous idiots of our times and the most corrupt administration. After all, they are still about entertainment first.

31. Letter to MSNBC...
WoW!

I have to say that in certain quarters the Fourth Estate is being resurrected and it's a great weight off the shoulders of those of us who have turned our TV's off and abandoned mainstream media because it was nothing more than propoganda for so long.

From Gannongate and delayed response on crucial, vital stories like the Downing Street Minutes to the Press fearlessly standing in the ever deepening water of New Orleans and asking the President, "Why aren't you taking care of THESE Americans, Sir? THESE ARE the WE THE PEOPLE they told you about in the Constitution and it's YOUR JOB to do right by them. WHERE ARE YOU? On vacation. WE see." And YOU DID. And because the Press is coming back to it's role as the light bearer for those willing to tell the truth or who are living it WE are ALL seeing the tradgedies that have been silently piling up in our country for the duration of this dishonorable administration.

Gannon/Guckert, whatever his name was - schilling for the White House by day and working his freak out at night had a VIP press pass in order to softball the questions had more access to the White House than American's who had EARNED their press passes by paying their dues and having the courage to ask questions that mattered to the American public.

It was a disgrace. It sickened me to watch the LIES coming out of the mouths of people in the media or elected officials spinning the facts so bizzarely that night was called day and day night and NO ONE seemed to notice. I have felt like Alice at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party since shortly after Nov 2, 2004. Even if EVERY irregularity in Ohio, for example, had a perfectly good explanation - THAT was NEWS and it should have been covered. You guys DID let us down on that one, and although we won't forget, we can forgive if you keep up the "tell it like it is" approach and not how "he who shall be obeyed" tells you it should be.

There are still those (Sean Hannity for example) who use their shows to play reverse spin. "Oh yeah, 'everything' is the President's fault." Then he goes on to say things like the DEMs blame the pRes for stubbing our toes and such. Give me a break. Does he really believe that people who watch TV are morons? I know I'm not a moron, but I don't watch much TV either and I don't know much about Hannity except that every clip I hear of him sounds like he is only concerned in a political agenda that gets uncomfortable around things like FACTS and the TRUTH.

I don't expect the Media to court the DEMs or the Repubs, but just roll the cameras and document the show. If you know what is going on behind the scenes, especially if it will help WE THE PEOPLE get our country back, please, please help.

Oh, one tiny complaint. I was in DC during the HUGE protest Sept 24-26 and there was barely any coverage at all. A St Bernard who swallowed a 13" knife got more air time than 300,000 - 500,000 people who were trying to get the world to notice that Americans care about what's going on in Iraq and in Louisianna and what isn't happening both for soldiers on the ground, vets who come home and the people here who will probably freeze to death this winter because this administration doesn't know what it's doing.

I've been to the Reporters Without Borders website and I know that there may be reasons why you guys haven't been so forth coming prior to this - at least 72 I can think of. The war in Iraq hasn't been going on as long as the Vietnam war, but I know it has been deadly for journalists.

So when you guys rise up to the occassion and do your jobs the way it should be done, I really have to say, I respect you as fellow patriots. Thank you for being brave enough to swim against the current administration's policies and for bravely getting into this struggle to defend those who really are being hurt (the American people) from this onslaught of stupidty and calloused disregard for human suffering that is the trademark of this administration.

Sincerely,

xxxxxxx

38. Actually, Olbermann didn't let you down on Ohio
The election irregularities led his show for night after night...until even he finally had to give up because Lord knows everyone else did.

40. Well! THEN I owe an apology for that.
Something in the back of my mind says that DU kept asking if things were on MSNBC awhile back.

Anyway, if they can miss 1/2 a million people in DC I can make a mistake too.

23. His unwillingness to listen is manifesting itself visibly.
I think we are given cues by our higher self to get real and quit the charades we play.

Maybe that part of himself that HAS had a few talks with God and has been suppressed and tied up in a dark corner of his mind has worked its way to his ear canal. That would also explain the inner ear balance issue with him falling off his bike all the time.

(Tongue in cheek, but semi-serious.)

If you're going to catapult the propaganda, best make sure you've got a working catapult.

WTF, that was just awful.

I'd been ignoring these thread, thinking to myself, "of course his events are staged. If you want to project a message, you need to control the forum. So what is everyone worked so up about." But jeebus christ that was just fucking awful, even by bushco's standards.

9. They just keep repeating the same refrain over and over
9-11, terra, terra, terra, support the troops, things are going well, we're protecting you, we're fightin' 'em ovah there so's we's don hava fight 'em ovah heah, there's light at at the end of the tunnel...

oops, well that last one might have been about a different war, but you get the idea. You'd think by now they'd realize that's not working so well anymore and come up with some new ways to scare us into submission.

Which is not always a bad thing.

I laughed.

And then I cried.

Nominated.

21. The sad part is that the handler actually did a better job!
The "dress reherasal" aide would make an attempt to seem engaged & make eye contact. She asked "I'm interested to know about..." directly and as if she cared. When Bush asked the same question, his eyes wandered to something more interesting on the wall, and he said "uh...I uh have another question (sigh) about..." I'm starting to think Bush is deliberately trying to mess this up.

I mean, his whole time in office is like the twisted and deformed mutant child of a sleazy back alley tryst between Reality Show and Political "Spinal Tap".

Seriously, you should incorporate that into your sig line, that was awesome.
