Dana Milbank mentioned the blinking and jaw grinding on Olberman 2nite.
Dana Milbank (WaPoHo) counted 40 blinks (I think that has Biblical significance .. 40 blinks and 40 nods).

1. I couldn't believe it when he brought it up--
that was so great! High time people start asking questions about all that eye-blinking and jaw grinding and hopping around. :bounce:

2. Yep, Dana was pretty damning of the Shrub, AGAIN!
Also mentioned about the jiggling, and obvious nervousness of Shrub, both at the meeting with Matt Lauer yesterday and the chat today.

"Obviously under a lot of pressure!"

Dana also said Shrub is so used to things going very smooth, he's quite sure his temper was pretty bad after todays display!

6. They won't let him out in public.
If KKKarl gets indicted, my bet is we won't see W for days. Maybe not for a long time.

7. Oh, that was a good article! A snip from it:
"The president was a blur of blinks, taps, jiggles, pivots and shifts. Bush has always been an active man, but standing with Lauer and the serene, steady first lady, he had the body language of a man wishing urgently to be elsewhere.

The fidgeting clearly corresponded to the questioning. When Lauer asked if Bush, after a slow response to Katrina, was "trying to get a second chance to make a good first impression," Bush blinked 24 times in his answer. When asked why Gulf Coast residents would have to pay back funds but Iraqis would not, Bush blinked 23 times and hitched his trousers up by the belt.

When the questioning turned to Miers, Bush blinked 37 times in a single answer -- along with a lick of the lips, three weight shifts and some serious foot jiggling. Laura Bush, by contrast, delivered only three blinks and stood still through her entire answer about encouraging volunteerism."

8. When milbank first wrote
about *'s "blinking" he didn't mention the "jaw grinding" and I read that a DUer e-mailed him about it and dana answered him and said he would look into it. So, it's a DUer who's responsible for the additional jaw grinding mention from milbank!

13. From another post of mine: Cocaine or drug-induced torticollis.
Certain drugs of abuse such as ketamine, amphetamines, and cocaine as well as commonly prescribed neuroleptic drugs such as prochlorperazine (Compazine), haloperidol (Haldol), and chlorpromazine (Thorazine) can cause acute dystonia (a lack of normal muscle control). This is a condition that involves the sudden onset of involuntary contractions of the muscles of the face, neck, or back. In addition to bending of the head to one side (acute torticollis), you may experience deviation of the eyes (oculogyric crisis) and protrusion of the tongue (buccolingual crisis).

Twitch. Twitch .. twitch. Could this develop into Torrett's Syndrome back at the WH? I'll bet Bu$h was twitching and swearing late today.

PS: Another reason Bu$h couldn't take a flight physical in 1972? Twitch .. twitch. Jerk .. jerk. The famous British alcoholic and writer, Kingsley Amis, called it jaculations. Oh, he would know! Read One Fat Englishman and The Green Man.

14. DemoTex, the last time I saw blinking like that ...
It was a POW spelling out words in Morris Code with his blinks.

I believe the word was T-R-E-A-C-H-E-R-Y.
