Political newbies: Elections you never thought you'd give a damn about

I never thought I'd care who my County Executive was. But I do now. Normally the position is non-partisan. One guy has not announced his party affiliation. The other is an avowed Republican. The first guy has so far been endorsed by Sensenbrenner, and the guy who wants our Democratic Governor's job, and a Conservative radio pundit who subs for Rush.

The other guy has Union endorsement.

I think I'll be picking the other guy.

Normally I wouldn't even give a damn, and I certainly wouldn't be bothering to vote in an off year election such as this.

I'm hoping low turnout means we can get that other guy in there. This is freeperville after all.

So, newbies, are you paying attention to even local politics more than you ever thought you would?
