2. You're kidding, right?
Don't we have more important things to do than waste our votes on a guy that doesn't take the election seriously? You've seen the Rev. speak, the guy is entertaining and funny, but c'mon...

No election am quite impressed with rev al's charisma. If he ran a serious campaign i was wondering how formidable an opponent he could be.

10. That's a big "IF". True, IF he ran a serious campaign...but
it's too late in his career for that. His character is firmly seared into the minds and videotapes of the public eye. It would be too easy to discredit him.

3. If it increases African-American participation and "ownership" in the
primary season then I am all for it. Obama is my man though for 2012 or 2016, depending on how 2008 turns out.

5. Thats a joke right............
I'm from NY, where Sharpton is a headliner. Snowballs got a better chance making it through the summer than he does.

6. Nope, he ripped it with me.
He let one of DeLay's goons be his campaign finance manager, and did the Nader thing of taking money from pukes.

Anyone who does that is OUT for me, done, history.

He's an amusing personality to me, but not a political figure.

8. Sharpton is amusing when he's on O'Reilley...
but I wouldn't vote for him with a gun to my head.

11. Sharpton made the debates last year...
He doesn't have a chance in hell of winning. The debates were classic stuff with his presence.

12. If Sharpton by some miracle won the nomination,
I wonder how bad the landslide against us would be. Nothing against Sharpy, as I like him personally, but he can't win.

13. Can We Get a REAL Black Man To Run?
Instead of that characture with bad hair known as Al Sharpton? One that preaches racial and religious acceptance rather than "kill all the Jews, then kill whitey"? I mean, someone like Barak Obama, or John Conyers, or whoever.

I wish Elijah Cummings would throw his hat into the ring for the MD Senate race to replace Sarbanes. Cardin is a good Congressman, but Kweisi Mfume has way too much baggage that the repugs will have a field day with. But, if the repugs run Lt. Gov Steele, they'll come out with the "Democrats are keeping the black man down" sh*t. :puke:

14. No. Never. Non. Nyet. Why?
Although he's far more fun and articulate in "debating" HANNITY and all that SCUM.

15. He'd be a terrible nominee, but the Dems should
defnitely make him the KEYNOTE speaker next time at the Convention, rather than trying to cut him off after 10 minutes or so. Sure, he's kind of "out there" but he KNOWS how to speak, and he KNOWS how to spell out the DIFFERENCES between the Dems and the Repubs. Kind of the mirror-image, if I dare say it, of Zell Miller.

The Republicans would never nominate someone as "hot" as Zell, but he was their Keynote speaker. He wowed the crowd and told us all what he saw as the differences between the two parties. It was no accident that Bush took the BIGGEST jump in the polls after that speech and that convention.

Let Al Keynote! No more of this namby-pamby "competence, not ideology" stuff! Most Americans are so apolitical that by the time a Presidential election rolls around every four years, they have forgotten everything they ever knew about what Democrats are and what Republicans are. Last time, Zell and the Republicans got to "remind" them of the differences by default - because our side never attempted to do so.
