I'm thinking of those Kool-Aid drinkers who appeared in military garb during Bush's grand performance yesterday.

Earlier today on the Imus show, Tom Friedman stated that 10 of every 12 soldiers in Iraq believe in their mission.

IMHO, Friedman's full of shit.

1. Friedman was likely only allowed contact with proBush servicemen.
I highly doubt that Friedman ventured into the hot spots in Iraq where the greater number of antiBush personnel actually perform their service.

2. Maybe he's not.
For their own self preservation and others, I hope they believe in their mission. Unfortunately, if morale gets low over there, it will put lives more at risk.

Let them be focused on doing their job and staying safe. When they are back in the U.S. then they can have time to reflect on Bush.

When your life is in danger, their is not a lot of time for deep thought.

3. It's an emotional survival tactic. You gotta believe.

But I still don't believe ten out of twelve.

This is why Republicans tried to keep service members from voting in 1944. They want to believe.

It's an offshoot of "no politics in the wardroom."

Yes, Friedman's full of shit.
