what is worse for Rove? knowing now or later?
what was the meanest thing that Fitzgerald could do to Karl Rove?
Considering that Rove and others in the White House offered the least amount of cooperation possible, until the very end once they realized that such actions were doing them no good, what would be just rewards? It wasn't just delayed access to people, it was access to documents, phone logs, records, visit logs, e-mail logs and messages, and some reports of less than cooperative behavior at all levels. By some rumors (obviously from the outside, because NO ONE leaks on Fitz's team) Clinton's administration bent over backwards to cooperate incomparison.

So what would it be? what would be the best way to repay a shit for shitty behavior?

No, not indicting him immediately, and certainly not telling him he would never be indicted.

The best, sweetest, most damaging thing that Fitz and his team could have done is to do precisely what they did. Let him sweat for a fourth time for almost 4 hours, and when he created enough of his own precious bodily fluids, letting him stew in those for the next following days. Let his worry, let him fret, let him wonder and be distracted.

I wonder how anyone can sleep with that kind of pressure, especially someone as devious and mean-spirited as Rove, who probably expects that everyone else is just as dirty as he. I would not wish this on a dog, but then again, I love dogs. They have earned my trust, respect, kindness and love.

Let him stew. I suspect he will still be indicted.

1. Ya gotta know that Rove knows just how worried to be.
If he knows he's innocent he shouldn't worry at all.

OH, ROVE INNOCENT? I MADE A FUNNY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

2. He may be stewing but I don't think that is Fitzgerald's
intent. I think Fitz is just doing his job and making sure he has all his ducks in a row before going to the next step. He is a cool customer and thorough in his work.

I think we need to add his visage to our available icons on DU once this plays out. What do you say, Admins?

4. oh, yeah, that is true. thorough, hard-working and detail oriented.
but not so drowned in the minor points to miss the bigger picture.

His seeming lack of political ambition is his best asset at this point.

6. His 'lack of political ambition' remains to be seen but
I agree with the rest of your post! That would be too good to be true but I hope to be proved wrong.

5. The waiting is the worst! I was involved in a very long investigation
at the Co. I worked for. Thank God they weren't investigating ME, but as Dir. of Acctg. I had to do most of the research they demanded, and I was the one who had to sign for most of the subpoenas. If you're never been through anything lisk that, you can't imagine how it literally takes over people's lives!

I agree, Rove deserves it. Believe me, he's not having any good days recently!!!!

7. Knowing Later
Between now and then he gets to use his imagination. He knows all of his dirty deeds. He can only imagine what prosecutors do or don't know or can reasonably infer.

8. being indicted is actually much easier. Your atty tells you what to do
and unless you are really stupid, you do it. Your attorney tells you exactly how had it is, how much time is involved and what deals, if any can be cut.

9. Ahhh, yes
being told what to do and what to expect. Yet another reason that knowing later is worse for him....
