Ipsos Poll: Majority of Americans Favor Impeachment of Bush
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 04:58 PM by louis c
By a margin of 50% to 44%, Americans say that President Bush should be impeached if he lied about the war in Iraq.

The Poll was conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs, the highly-regarded non-partisan polling company.

"The results of this poll are truly astonishing," said Bob Fertik."This poll tells us that a solid plurality of Americans want Congress to consider removing Bush from the White House".

Both Zogby and Ipsos polls asked about Impeachment if Bush lied.....Pollsters predict that asking simply about impeachment without any context would produce a large number of "I don't know" responses.

Other polls show a majority of U.S. adults believe that Bush did in fact lie about the reasons for war, including an ABC News/Washington Post poll in June.

3. Chimpeachment first, then
conviction, removal from office, a nice vacation at The Hague and then a long, relaxing prison sentence.

12. De-Bushing Washington
would go a long way toward improving foreign relations. Deception, defiance and embarrassment are the hallmarks of this Administration. All thinking Americans should push for the impeachment of George W. Bush.

Passion for Impeachment is Major Unreported Story

The strong support for impeachment found in this poll is especially surprising because the views of impeachment supporters are entirely absent from the broadcast and print media, and can only be found on the Internet and in street protests, including the large anti-war rally in Washington on September 24.

The lack of coverage of impeachment support is due in part to the fact that not a single Democrat in Congress has called for impeachment, despite considerable grassroots activism by groups like Democrats.com (http://democrats.com/impeach).

17. Gee... such a penetrating ANALysis ... like a nail in the brain?
:eyes:

I guess you missed all of the reports that what few (purchased) chemical weapons Saddam possessed, along with programs to develop WMD, were all destroyed in 1991??

I guess you haven't gotten the picture yet about PNAC/neocon-sponsored fraudulent "intelligence" and Chalabi's 'Curveball'??

BTW, I think the word you seek is "moot" ... not "mute." I see that mistake quite frequently is certain circles.

20. "Clinton Clinton Clinton!"
You can play "Clinton did it, too!" all you like, but Bill Clinton didn't invade Iraq. Clinton pushed inspections, which apparently worked. GW Bush and his idiot supporters pushed invasion.

By your logic, we should invade Japan next week because their emperor has imperial ambitions. And when we get there and discover that the "nay-sayers" were right, and they don't actually have an emperor anymore... you can say, "well they did in the 40's!" and sack the place.

Edited on Sun Oct-16-05 09:35 AM by Selatius
That's supposedly the number Bush rode in on to get elected in 2004. It would be poetic to see him ride out on the same number. That way, we can claim we have a "mandate." We'll use that against him.

19. IF he lied?
I think the evidence already exists that he DID lie. There's no question about it.

He should have been impeached, convicted and removed from office. Like yesterday already!

32. I just wrote my house representative.
One notable thing is the absence of coverage on this in the media. If we got some Dems in congress to call for his impeachment, maybe this would get coverage.
