Were John Hannah and Jim Wilkinson both involved in FL recount?
And were both of them part of the White House Iraq Group? Seems that I recall for sure that Wilkinson, part of the WHIG group, was also one of the faces that were storming the doors down in Florida when they were counting the votes? Was Hannah one of those also? If so, look how far they have come and how they have been rewarded. Anybody have the names of the Republican aides that stormed the building where they were counting the votes and forced them to stop counting?

3. Thanks! I was looking for that photo...
But I seem to have read just in the last week that Wilkinson, WHIG, was instrumental in Florida stop-the-recount effort of the Repubs...

16. what I remember.....reported that there was a spontaneous protest
that shut down the Miami recount

later this picture appeared on the internet with the identifications.....for me it was one of the major turning points of realizing that the reality was no longer politics as usual and that the republicans were organized at a level way beyond anything the democrats had even dreamed of at that point (and more organized than we are today)

18. Supplemental info here

After the Miami “Brooks Brothers Riot” – named after the protesters’ preppie clothing – no government action was taken beyond the police rescuing several Democrats who were surrounded and roughed up by the rioters. While no legal charges were filed against the Republicans, newly released documents show that at least a half dozen of the publicly identified rioters were paid by Bush’s recount committee.

The payments to the Republican activists are documented in hundreds of pages of Bush committee records – released grudgingly to the Internal Revenue Service last month, 19 months after the 36-day recount battle ended. Overall, the records provide a road map of how the Bush recount team brought its operatives across state lines to stop then-Vice President Al Gore’s recount efforts.

The records show that the Bush committee spent a total of $13.8 million to frustrate the recount of Florida’s votes and secure the state's crucial electoral votes for Bush....Bush lawyers had argued that they were not obligated legally to disclose how they had raised and spent their money.

The Bush committee finally reversed itself and filed the records on July 15. The records were released to the public on the IRS Web site in late July....The documents show that the Bush organization put on the payroll about 250 staffers, spent about $1.2 million to fly operatives to Florida and elsewhere, and paid for hotel bills adding up to about $1 million. To add flexibility to the travel arrangements, a fleet of corporate jets was assembled, including planes owned by Enron Corp., then run by Bush backer Kenneth Lay, and Halliburton Co., where Dick Cheney had served as chairman and chief executive officer.

If anyone can tell me where these "door rushers" might be found, they will be reluctant to ever rush another one.

5. I don't know. Hannah was an employee of the National Security
Agency and worked for Bolton. He was on loan from them to work for Cheney. I have to believe that happened AFTER the election was decided by the SCOTUS.

I know absolutely NOTHING abpit Wilkinson. Got to tell you though. It's people in positions like theirs who would be most likely to flip. They may like their job, but no strong loyalty to the boss! They value their own ass a lot more!

15. Yep! Bolton was one of the intimidators in Fla!
I have no idea if Hannah was working for or with him then though.

I find it very interesting that Bolton is being drug into this Plame thing though.

Ohhh, what a wickid web we weave!

8. Here's a little more info on Wilkinson....
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=James_R._Wilkinson

<snip>
"Jim Wilkinson has gone from politics to war and back since he worked for George W. Bush in Florida during the 2000 election, and his journey is a mark of the administration's utilitarian approach to marketing war, politics and the Presidency. 'He's a man who prefers to work behind the scenes,' said the spokesman for the Republican National Committee, Jim Dyke. He's also got as pure a Republican pedigree as you can wish, and an edge honed in the bitter partisan wars between Bill Clinton and the Republican House leadership.

"Wilkinson first left his mark on the 2000 Presidential race in March 1999, when he helped package and promote the notion that Al Gore claimed to have 'invented the Internet.' Then the Texan popped up in Miami to defend Republican protesters shutting down a recount: 'We find it interesting that when Jesse Jackson has thousands of protesters in the streets, it's O.K., but when a small number of Republicans exercise their First Amendment rights, the Democrats don't seem to like it,' he told the Associated Press.

"For his troubles, Mr. Wilkinson was made deputy director of communications for planning in the Bush White House, and was among the aides who set up the Sept. 14, 2001, visit to Ground Zero that redefined George W. Bush's Presidency. During the Afghan war, he managed 'Coalition Information Centers' in Washington, D.C., and London, as well as in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In Qatar, he became the point man on the rescue of Pvt. Jessica Lynch and delivered the most memorable and sellable quote of Gulf War II: 'America doesn't leave its heroes behind,' he told reporters at a late-night briefing."

Jim Wilkinson
Deputy Director of Communications for Planning (2001-2002)

CURRENT NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER SPOKESMAN: Wilkinson is currently the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Communications. From January 2001 through November 2002, Mr. Wilkinson served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Communications for Planning.

WAS A MEMBER OF THE WHITE HOUSE IRAQ GROUP: Wilkinson was a “regular participant”of the weekly meetings of the Bush Administration’s White House Iraq Group. Formed by White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card in August of 2002, WHIG was, in the words of a senior administration official, “an internal working group, like many formed for priority issues, to make sure each part of the White House was fulfilling its responsibilities.” Two members of the group, Rove and Libby, have been confirmed to be leakers, and others are suspected.

ONLY MEMBER OF BOTH IRAQ GROUP AND OFFICE OF GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS: Wilkinson was also a member of the OGC, a group designed to “advise the President, the heads of appropriate offices within the Executive Office of the President, and the heads of executive departments and agencies (agencies) on utilization of the most effective means for the United States Government to ensure consistency in messages that will promote the interests of the United States abroad, prevent misunderstanding, build support for and among coalition partners of the United States, and inform international audiences.” Wilkinson is the only administration official who was simultaneously a member of the OGC and the Iraq Group.

ONE OF CONDOLEEZA RICE’S ‘INNER CIRCLE’: Condoleezza has an intimate circle of advisers, and none is more intimate than Jim Wilkinson. The Washington Post reports that when leaks forced her to cancel a trip to Iraq, “Rice at first told only two key aides in the State Department — Chief of Staff Brian Gunderson and senior adviser Jim Wilkinson — that she had decided to try again.”

QUESTIONED BY FEDERAL PROSECUTORS IN LEAK PROBE: Bloomberg reported that he was questioned by Fitzgerald’s team “about the vice president’s knowledge of the anti-Wilson campaign and his dealings on it with Libby, his chief of staff.”

* "Former Bush campaign aide Jim Wilkinson, (forever seared into the American psyche as the spokesman for GOP Miami-based protesters clamoring to stop the Florida ballot re-count during the 2000 election) has been hired as Tommy Frank's top spokesperson at the media center, and will be responsible for overseeing 42 military public affairs officers charged with managing hundreds of international correspondents covering the war. ... * 22 October 2003, Salon.com: Karl Rove's "choice as director of communications for the convention is none other than Jim Wilkinson, the flack who left so many reporters furious last spring when he handled Pentagon press relations at the Iraq War headquarters, U.S. Central Command in Doha, Qatar." (Sourcewatch)
* "In other words, the media center that's been built by the military, has been designed, in part, by the Hollywood art director who adds the Orwellian ambiance to George Bush's speeches. And to make matters worse, this entire public affairs operation is headed Jim Wilkinson, one of the thugs who protested the Florida recount "Ever the good soldier, (though a civilian, Wilkinson reportedly wears a military desert camouflage uniform to work), Wilkinson is poised to 'manage' journalists working at the center, many of whom are currently enjoying Ritz-Carlton accommodations, open bars and free buffets and belly dancing. 'It's a first-class war,' said Peter Lloyd, correspondent for Australian Broadcasting Corp." (Sourcewatch)

Quotable: "President Saddam Hussein is seeking uniforms that are 'identical down to the last detail' to those worn by American and British troops, so that atrocities carried out by Iraqi forces could be blamed on the allies, a senior Defense Department official said Thursday. ... James R. Wilkinson, chief spokesman for the U.S. Central Command, said Hussein had ordered the uniforms for use by members of his paramilitary force, Fedayeen Saddam. ...These forces, Wilkinson said, 'would wear them when conducting reprisals against the Iraqi people so that they could pass the atrocities off as the work of the United States and the United Kingdom.'" (Jesus! He's certifiable!)

on edit: I'm having a hard time spelling this little brownshirt's name.

17. The only connection I heard with Roberts was that he was
asked for advice on how to handle the legal battle in Fla, and gave advice. I don't think he was ever part of the WHIG.
