Some thoughts on the "Saddam Trial"
I've been watching this and listening to the commentaries on CNN, and I wonder if I am the only one willing to say that this is just a big joke.

From what I understand, today's case is about the killing of 146 men after an assasination attempt.

Let's suppose for a minute that such a thing would happen here in the US. How would our government react if the Michigan Millitia would attempt to blow up the POTUS and then declare independance?

Isn't this like putting Reno and Clinton on trial for the Wako incident?

Obviously I have no sympathy for Saddam and his goodfellas, but the whole triumphant tone about this "trial" being a victory for the Arab world annoys me. What if he is found innocent? That is obviously not an option.

The man was an evil dictator who ended up with the short end of the stick. Just shoot him and get it over with. I really don't understand what this mok trial is supposed to accomplish. Is it to demonstrate that from now on nobody is above the law? Ha...ha...ha! We'll see about that.

It's all a little surreal and it will probably be taboo for a while to discuss this in public. Oh well...time to go to work.

2. Maybe you are right but they are not thinking like you.
They think like the Middle East people. He will not be judged as some one from the US or any other country that came from our English roots. We, you or I, just do not want to go to court unless it is one of those countries believe me. I think you will only find a few places in Europe have also picked up our way of thinking.

3. I had to turn it off. Really I did. I'll get the highlights on TDS.
I just can't stand people hyping preemptive war.

5. Just shoot him and get it over with?
Well we at least have to pretend to try him, don't we? Because if we don't have JUSTICE then what do we have?

Don't answer that.

7. Marsupial Jurisprudence
So shouldn't Rummy, Bush 1, Ronnie Ray-Gun's toxic ghost, and the Ollie North Mob be on trial as accessories?
