What are the refugees of Iraq?

What are the refugees of Iraq?
I don't hear much about an exodus of Iraqis fleeing the country as is usually the case. Certainly here in Canada there have been almost no refugees and I don't see any news about them fleeing to the US. My suspicions is that they are being killed by so-called coalition forces if they try to cross the borders.

The northern Kurdish provinces are pretty peaceful, over all, so I doubt there would be any refugees fleeing. The Shiite south is also, aside from some suicide bombers and excitable religious police, for the most part calm. After all, Iranian pilgrims are VISITING holy sites in southern Iraq for Ramadan.

Its the Western provinces and Baghdad with the Sunni Arab population that the chaos exists. Refugees could flee to Syria.
